Reporting To: Project Manager / Engineering Manager
Job Summary
Responsible for the successful installation, electrical commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, start-up, and handover of industrial furnaces and associated electrical, control, automation, and instrumentation systems at customer sites.
Key Responsibilities
* 1. Site Installation
- - Plan and supervise electrical installation activities at customer sites.
- - Verify control panels, MCC/PCC panels, PLC panels, field devices, sensors, motors, VFDs and instruments.
- - Supervise cable laying, cable termination, control wiring, earthing and panel installation.
- - Check installation as per approved electrical drawings, GA drawings and IO lists.
- - Coordinate with mechanical and electrical teams for complete equipment installation.
* 2. Pre-Commissioning
- - Check electrical panels and field wiring before power ON.
- - Perform continuity, insulation resistance and electrical safety checks.
- - Verify all inputs and outputs as per the final IO list.
- - Check sensors, thermocouples, limit switches, proximity sensors, pressure switches and other field instruments.
- - Verify motor rotation, VFD parameters and control circuits.
- - Prepare and close pre-commissioning punch points.
* 3. PLC / HMI Commissioning
- - Perform PLC hardware and software commissioning.
- - Check PLC digital and analog inputs/outputs.
- - Test PLC logic, interlocks, alarms and permissives.
- - Configure and test HMI screens, parameters, alarms and trends.
- - Check communication between PLC, HMI, VFDs, temperature controllers and other devices.
- - Support PLC program modifications and troubleshooting where required.
* 5. Testing & Troubleshooting
- - Identify and rectify electrical, PLC, instrumentation and automation faults.
- - Perform I/O checks, loop checks and functional testing.
- - Troubleshoot sensors, VFDs, PLC modules, control circuits and communication systems.
- - Analyze recurring faults and identify root causes.
- - Coordinate with design, programming, mechanical and production teams for technical solutions.
* 6. Customer Coordination
- - Act as the technical representative at customer sites.
- - Coordinate daily activities with the customer maintenance/production team.
- - Explain equipment operation and basic troubleshooting to customer personnel.
- - Attend customer observations and close commissioning punch points.
- - Conduct SAT and support final machine handover.
* 7. Safety & Quality
- - Follow company and customer safety procedures.
- - Ensure electrical work is carried out according to approved procedures.
- - Conduct toolbox talks and follow site safety requirements.
- - Ensure installation and commissioning meet project quality standards.
- - Report unsafe conditions and technical deviations immediately.
- - PLC and HMI troubleshooting.
- - Knowledge of Siemens / Mitsubishi / Schneider / Allen-Bradley PLCs is an advantage.
- - VFD parameter setting and troubleshooting.
- - Analog and digital I/O understanding.
- - Temperature controllers and thermocouple knowledge.
- - Industrial sensors and instrumentation.
- - Electrical drawings, wiring diagrams and IO-list interpretation.
- - Basic industrial communication such as RS485, Modbus, Ethernet/Profinet.
- - Knowledge of furnace control systems and industrial automation.
* Qualification
- - Diploma / B.E. / B. Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Automation or related engineering field.
- - Industrial installation and commissioning experience preferred.
- - Good knowledge of electrical and automation systems.
Experience: 2-5 Years
