Job summary

MainframeMaster is seeking an experienced Mainframe Application Support specialist with 10–14 years of hands-on COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS and VSAM experience to support Billing Applications. The candidate should be open to learning new technologies including AI tools and advancements.

Responsibilities include leading billing production support, quality control, problem solving, and training of staff, while driving process improvements and proactive incident management.

Qualifications

• 10–14 years of hands-on mainframe application support experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead billing production support by monitoring task performance, coaching team members, and providing feedback to developers and onshore peers.
• Quality Control: Assist in identifying and resolving defects; ensure adherence to quality standards.
• Problem Solving: Act as the first point of escalation for the offshore team and primary contact for business users; assist with implementing solutions.
• Training and Development: Leverage KT documentation to train new staff, cross-train existing team members, and support skill development.
• Process Improvement: Suggest and implement improvements that increase efficiency and system stability.
• Investigate root causes for recurring functional issues and propose preventive actions.
• Analyze business process flows and identify gaps or improvement areas in mainframe applications.
• Maintain detailed incident logs, Root Cause Analysis (RCA) documents, and functional SOPs.
• Provide timely updates to users and stakeholders on incident status and resolution.
• Prepare and share regular reports on incident trends, SLA compliance, and functional health.
• Document functional issues, resolutions, and workarounds in the knowledge base.
• Participate in modernization initiatives and explore integration with new technologies and AI tools.
