Job summary

UST is seeking an experienced mainframe developer in Bengaluru to lead development, maintenance, and production support of critical online and batch applications. The role requires hands-on COBOL, CICS, DB2, SQL, JCL, and IBM z/OS expertise.

You will work in an Agile setting, delivering reliable production support, incident triage, and performance tuning with strong collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of relevant experience in mainframe application development, maintenance, and production support.
• Strong hands-on expertise in COBOL, CICS, DB2, SQL, JCL, and IBM z/OS.
• Experience developing, supporting, and troubleshooting online and batch mainframe applications.
• Hands-on experience providing production batch support, including incident triage and recovery.
• Experience delivering solutions in Agile environments with standard coding and testing practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication for collaborative teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot mainframe online and batch applications.

• Strong hands‑on expertise in COBOL, CICS, DB2, SQL, JCL, and IBM z/OS.
• Experience developing, supporting, and troubleshooting both online and batch mainframe applications.
• Hands‑on experience providing production batch support, including incident triage, abend resolution, job recovery, and service restoration.
• Proven experience delivering solutions in an Agile environment while adhering to development best practices, coding standards, and testing procedures.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving abilities, with exceptional attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment. Preferred Mainframe Technical Skillset
