The IT Administrator will be responsible for managing the organisation IT infrastructure, Google Workspace environment, networking systems, endpoints, cloud accounts, software subscriptions, and related operational processes. The role requires hands-on experience in maintaining secure and reliable IT systems, resolving user and infrastructure issues, managing technology assets, and monitoring cloud and software expenditure.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure and Security
- Maintain servers, VPNs, firewalls, switches, routers, Wi-Fi access points, storage devices, and backup systems.
- Monitor network availability, system performance, storage capacity, and security alerts.
- Apply operating-system updates, security patches, device encryption, and endpoint protection.
- Maintain secure access controls, multi-factor authentication, and least-privilege permissions.
- Manage backups and perform regular restoration tests.
- Escalate complex technical or security incidents to the appropriate vendor or specialist.
Cloud, Subscriptions and IT Operations
- Administer AWS, GCP, database, hosting, domain, SSL, and other cloud or software subscriptions.
- Maintain records of subscription owners, administrators, costs, licences, renewal dates, and payment due dates.
- Configure cloud budgets, billing alerts, and cost-allocation tags.
- Review invoices and usage data to identify unexpected charges, unused licences, and idle resources.
- Validate technology invoices and coordinate renewals and payment requests with the Finance team.
- Manage IT assets, warranties, maintenance contracts, vendors, and service providers.
- Maintain IT inventories, network diagrams, procedures, and recovery documents.
Google Workspace and User Support
- Manage Google Workspace users, groups, licences, permissions, Shared Drives, security settings, and audit logs.
- Complete user onboarding, access changes, account suspension, and offboarding.
- Configure and support laptops, desktops, mobile devices, printers, and approved software.
- Resolve hardware, software, account, email, network, and connectivity issues.
Required Skills and Experience
- Experience in IT administration, infrastructure support, or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of Google Workspace administration and security.
- Working knowledge of AWS and GCP administration, IAM, billing, budgets, and cost monitoring.
- Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, firewalls, switching, and enterprise Wi-Fi.
- Experience with Windows or Linux servers, virtual machines, storage, backups, and endpoint security.
- Ability to review cloud and software costs against actual usage.
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, communication, and vendor-management skills.
- Basic scripting or automation knowledge is preferred
