Job summary

Narayan Medical College in India seeks a dedicated Infection Prevention & Control professional to lead hospital IPC initiatives and ensure patient safety. The role focuses on policy development, HAI surveillance, audits, and NABH compliance across departments.

The candidate will drive hand hygiene, PPE compliance, waste management, and staff training while coordinating with microbiology, nursing, CSSD, and other teams to strengthen infection control and quality improvement efforts.

Qualifications

• B.Sc. Nursing / P.B.B.Sc. Nursing from a recognized institution.
• Valid Nursing Council Registration.
• Minimum 25 years of hospital experience, preferably in Infection Control, ICU, OT, or Quality.
• Certification or formal training in Infection Prevention & Control (IPC) will be an added advantage.
• Good knowledge of NABH standards, biomedical waste management, HAI surveillance, and infection control protocols.
• Strong communication, analytical, documentation, and training skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor infection prevention and control policies across the hospital.
• Conduct surveillance of Hospital-Acquired Infections (HAIs) and prepare regular infection control reports.
• Perform infection control audits and ensure compliance with NABH and statutory guidelines.
• Monitor hand hygiene practices, PPE compliance, sterilization, disinfection, and biomedical waste management.
• Investigate infection outbreaks and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
• Conduct orientation and regular training programmes for clinical and non-clinical staff on infection prevention practices.
• Coordinate with microbiology, nursing, housekeeping, CSSD, and other departments to strengthen infection control measures.
• Maintain infection control documentation, audit records, and quality indicators.
• Participate in Infection Control Committee meetings and support continuous quality improvement initiatives.
