The Infection Control Nurse will be responsible for preventing, monitoring, and controlling health‑care‑associated infections across hospital departments. This involves infection surveillance, staff training, hand hygiene audits, biomedical waste monitoring, outbreak investigation, and implementation of infection control policies.

The candidate should have strong nursing knowledge, attention to detail, documentation skills, and the ability to coordinate with clinical, nursing, housekeeping, microbiology, and quality teams.

• Monitor infection prevention and control practices across wards, ICU, OT, emergency, OPD, and diagnostic areas.
• Conduct regular infection control rounds and identify gaps in hygiene, safety, and compliance practices.
• Perform surveillance of health‑care‑associated infections and maintain accurate infection control records.
• Monitor hand hygiene compliance among doctors, nurses, housekeeping, and support staff.
• Train hospital staff on infection control protocols, PPE usage, hand hygiene, and isolation precautions.
• Ensure proper biomedical waste segregation, handling, storage, and disposal as per guidelines.
• Coordinate with microbiology, nursing, housekeeping, CSSD, OT, ICU, and quality departments.
• Assist in investigating infection outbreaks, needle‑stick injuries, and exposure incidents.
• Monitor cleaning, disinfection, sterilization, and environmental hygiene practices.
• Support implementation of isolation precautions for infectious and high‐risk patients.
• Prepare infection control audit reports, surveillance summaries, and compliance trackers.
• Assist in developing and updating infection control SOPs, checklists, and training materials.
• Participate in NABH, quality audits, patient safety programs, and hospital infection control committee activities.
• Report infection trends, risk areas, and corrective actions to hospital management and clinical teams.
• Promote a culture of hygiene, patient safety, and infection prevention across the hospital.
