Shri Venkateshwara University seeks an experienced Infection Control Nurse to monitor and reinforce IPC practices across the hospital, including wards, ICU, OT and other areas. You will emphasize hand hygiene, PPE usage, NABH standards, and HAI surveillance while coordinating with clinical and support teams.
The ideal candidate holds a B.Sc. Nursing or higher with State Nursing Council registration and 2–5 years of nursing experience, preferably with infection-control exposure and CAPA
Monitor and implement infection prevention & control (IPC) practices throughout the hospital.
Conduct regular infection control rounds in wards, ICU, OT and other clinical areas.
Monitor hand hygiene compliance, PPE usage and standard precautions.
Monitor Biomedical Waste Management practices and compliance.
Conduct surveillance of Hospital-Acquired Infections (HAIs) and maintain records.
Assist in investigation and control of infection outbreaks.
Coordinate with doctors, nursing staff, housekeeping, laboratory and other departments on infection-control issues.
Conduct training and awareness programs for healthcare workers on infection prevention.
Monitor sterilization, disinfection and environmental hygiene practices.
Prepare and maintain infection control reports, audits and surveillance data.
Participate in the Infection Control Committee meetings and implementation of corrective actions.
Support compliance with NABH/NMC and hospital infection-control standards.
Identify infection-control gaps and recommend corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
B.Sc. Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing preferred
Valid State Nursing Council Registration
2–5 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably with Infection Control exposure
Medical College / Teaching Hospital / Multi-Specialty Hospital experience preferred
Certification/course in Infection Control / Hospital Infection Prevention will be an advantage
Good knowledge of NABH standards, HAI surveillance, biomedical waste management and hand hygiene practices
Strong communication, documentation, auditing and training skills
Ability to coordinate effectively with clinical and support departments
Proactive approach with strong attention to patient safety and infection prevention
