Job summary

Daimler India Commercial Vehicles Private Limited in Chennai seeks a seasoned IMS/EHS Leader to sustain ISO certifications, govern governance, audits, and drive safety, energy and environmental initiatives.

You will oversee ISO 50001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, lead Kaizen culture, coordinate audits, monitor EHS metrics, and partner with Sustainability and EHS teams to achieve business objectives.

Qualifications

• Expert in IMS and IATF standards, with auditing experience.
• Experience managing internal and external audits and assessment cycles.
• Knowledge of EHS, sustainability, governance, and regulatory expectations.
• Experience driving Kaizen/Lean improvements within larger organizations.
• Strong stakeholder engagement, influencing skills, and change leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead and sustain IMS certifications by governing processes and audits.
• Plan, coordinate, and ensure successful completion of internal and external audits.
• Monitor EHS performance and ensure regulatory compliance across functions.
• Drive continuous improvement and Kaizen culture across the organization.
• Promote safety, energy conservation, and environmental stewardship initiatives.
• Track corrective and preventive actions and ensure timely closure of findings.
• Support management reviews and ongoing IMS framework improvements.

Tasks

Purpose of the Role
Lead and sustain the organization's Integrated Management System (IMS) certifications by driving governance, audit excellence, EHS performance monitoring, and continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, sustainability, and energy conservation.

• Manage and maintain IMS certifications (ISO 50001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and other applicable standards).
• Govern IMS processes, compliance requirements, and management system effectiveness across all functions.
• Plan, coordinate, and ensure successful completion of internal and external audits.
• Monitor and report EHS scorecard performance, ensuring compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
• Partner closely with Sustainability and EHS teams to align initiatives and achieve business objectives.
• Drive continuous improvement and Kaizen culture across the organization.
• Create employee engagement and enthusiasm for initiatives related to energy savings, sustainability, workplace safety, and environmental stewardship.
• Track corrective and preventive actions and ensure timely closure of audit findings.
• Facilitate management reviews and support continual improvement of the IMS framework.
• Promote awareness, training, and best practices to strengthen quality, safety, and environmental culture.
