Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services Limited is seeking a Hyper-V Administrator SME (VMware) for our Delhi/Noida operations. The role demands 5–10 years of hands-on virtualization experience with deep Hyper-V expertise and secondary VMware skills.

You will manage Hyper-V infrastructure, perform migrations, and ensure high availability and performance across enterprise environments. The position requires ITIL knowledge, strong documentation, and collaboration with remote infrastructure teams.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years hands-on experience in server virtualization with primary Hyper-V expertise.
• In-depth Hyper-V architecture knowledge: Failover Clustering, Live Migration, Replica, and VM HA.
• Strong Hyper-V performance monitoring, tuning, and capacity planning.
• VM provisioning, lifecycle management, and decommissioning.
• Secondary experience with VMware ESXi, vSphere, and vCenter administration.
• Experience in P2V migrations and cross-platform virtualization scenarios.
• Windows Server platforms used with Hyper-V; SAN storage concepts and AD dependencies.
• Good understanding of ITIL processes and enterprise remote infrastructure support.

Responsibilities

• Provide Level 2.5 / Level 3 operational support for Hyper-V environments.
• Administer and maintain Hyper-V infrastructure for high availability and performance.
• Troubleshoot Hyper-V cluster, VM, storage, and performance issues.
• Manage Failover Clusters, Live Migration, and replication scenarios.
• VM provisioning, capacity management, and performance optimization.
• Support server migrations (P2V and virtualization refresh activities).
• Provide secondary support for VMware environments as required.
• Monitor virtualization platforms and address capacity or performance risks.
• Participate in change, release, and maintenance activities; maintain runbooks.

Interview Time: 2: 00 PM to 6: 00 PM

Mandatory: ITIL Framework Knowledge, Incident, Problem, Change, Service Request, SLA & KPI Management, Documentation and Reporting (RCA, MSR, WSR, Aging, etc.)

Must-Have:

• 5-7 years of hands-on experience in server virtualization, with strong primary expertise in Microsoft Hyper-V.
• In-depth experience in Hyper-V architecture, Failover Clustering, Live Migration, Hyper-V Replica, and VM high availability.
• Strong hands-on experience in Hyper-V performance monitoring, tuning, and capacity planning.
• Experience in VM lifecycle management, including provisioning, expansion, optimization, and decommissioning.
• Working knowledge of VMware ESXi, vSphere, and vCenter administration (secondary skill).
• Experience in server migrations, including P2V and cross-platform virtualization scenarios.
• Strong understanding of Windows Server platforms used with Hyper-V.
• Knowledge of SAN storage concepts, multipathing, and VM storage design.
• Awareness of Active Directory integration, DNS dependencies, and virtualization-related services.
• Good understanding of ITIL processes (Incident, Change, Problem Management).
• Experience working in enterprise / remote infrastructure support environments.
