Job summary

Sodexo India is seeking a Shift Engineer (Mechanical/HVAC) for its facility in Jagiroad, Assam. The role focuses on operating and maintaining mechanical equipment and utility systems across shifts.

The ideal candidate has a diploma in mechanical engineering with 6–8 years of hands-on experience in chiller, HVAC, RO and FPS, preferably in semiconductor, pharmaceutical or manufacturing environments, and strong PM/maintenance skills.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University/Institute.
• 6–8 years of relevant experience in Mechanical / HVAC Operation & Maintenance.
• Hands-on experience with Chiller, HVAC, RO, FPS and mechanical utility systems.
• Experience in Semiconductor Manufacturing, Pharmaceutical, Manufacturing or related industries preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Preventive Maintenance, Breakdown Maintenance, Troubleshooting and Equipment O&M.
• Good team management, communication and coordination skills.
• Willingness to work in rotational shifts.

Responsibilities

• Manage shift-wise operation and maintenance of mechanical equipment and utility systems.
• Carry out Preventive Maintenance (PM), Breakdown Maintenance (BM) and Corrective Maintenance.
• Monitor and troubleshoot Chillers, HVAC systems, RO Plants, FPS and other mechanical utilities.
• Ensure smooth and reliable operation of all mechanical equipment during the shift.
• Conduct routine equipment inspections and identify potential faults.
• Coordinate with technicians and other engineering teams for timely resolution of breakdowns.
• Monitor equipment parameters and maintain operational records.
• Ensure minimum equipment downtime and timely completion of maintenance activities.
• Prepare shift reports, maintenance logs and equipment checklists.
• Ensure compliance with SOPs, EHS, safety and statutory requirements.
• Support energy efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Manage and guide technicians during shift operations.
