Samyu Glass Pvt Ltd seeks an experienced Plant Head of HR to support factory operations through strategic HR leadership, manpower planning, and IR management. You will drive talent acquisition, induction, training, and performance management while coordinating with corporate HR for appraisals and ensuring statutory compliance.

The role requires strong communication, stakeholder management, and the ability to implement cost-effective HR processes in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10-12 years of experience in HRM.
  • Knowledge of statutory compliance and IR in a large industrial setup.
  • MS Office proficiency and strong business communication.

Responsibilities

  • Manpower planning: plan manpower requirements at all levels to ensure availability for factory operations.
  • Manpower budget & costs: prepare and monitor HR budget including manpower, welfare and administration costs.
  • Talent management: recruit for factory operations, induction/orientation for new joiners and contract workers, set smart goals, coordinate with corporate HR for annual appraisal.
  • Productivity: improve productivity through multi-skill concepts and design incentive schemes.
  • Statutory compliance: ensure 100% compliance with applicable statutes and maintain records.
  • Safety & welfare: implement safety policies and welfare facilities and ensure PPE usage.
  • Grievance redressal & discipline: address grievances timely and maintain discipline per SOs/laws.
  • Employee engagement: plan structured engagement aligned to productivity and quality improvements.
  • IR climate: build strong IR climate, negotiate with union, represent management in conciliation and arbitration.

Plant Head & dotted line reporting to DGM – HR

Objective / Purpose of the Job

To support the Factory Operations by ensuring the availability of required manpower, systematic implementation of HR strategy and processes to leverage human resources for higher productivity, build high quality Teams & high performing work culture and focusing on cost optimization and harmonious industrial relations (IR).

Job Responsibilities & Accountabilities
Manpower Planning:
  • Planning the manpower requirement at all levels basis the standard manning norms and ensure availability of required no. of manpower at all times to meet the factory operations.
Manpower Budget & Costs:
  • Preparing and monitoring HR budget involving manpower, welfare and administration costs.
Talent Management:
  • Recruiting the right resource required for factory operations, providing induction & orientation for new joinees and contractual workforce and building the talents.
  • Setting smart goals for individual in line with business goals and plant performance and driving the workforce for achieving the goals,
  • Coordinating with corporate HR team for Annual Appraisal & Performance Management.
  • Work on skill gap analysis, learning and development initiatives such as Individual need identification, rolling out Training calendar and executing the same in consultation with plant head and HR Head.
Productivity:
  • Continuously working on improving people productivity by promoting multi-skill concept, building skill level of the employees and associates.
  • Designing and implementing the Variable incentive schemes as and when required to improve the Productivity.
Statutory Compliance:
  • Ensuring 100% compliance to all applicable Statutes including the compliance of Manpower Contractors. Payment of Wages on time
  • Maintenance of required statutory records and other correspondence.
Safety & Welfare:
  • Cascading and implementing various policies pertaining to Safety and welfare of employees
  • Taking ownership and ensuring the welfare facilities such as Canteen, OHS, Crèche, Rest rooms, toilets, drinking water facilities, employees transportation and other requirements and maintain well.
  • Driving equality, respect and discipline among all categories of employees
  • Driving Workplace safety and ensuring of wearing PPEs by workmen
  • Responsible for POSH at workplace
Grievance Redressal & Discipline
  • Addressing the grievances of the employees effectively on time by providing a system and guidelines.
  • Maintaining discipline within the Factory premises at all levels in accordance with the Company Standing Orders or the relevant statutory laws.
Employee Engagement
  • Framing structured Employee Engagement plan linked to the productivity & quality improvement, implementing GMPs, continuous process improvement & performance Management in consultation with HODs and plant head.
  • Regular interaction with employees, engaging in Small group activities and sharing the feedback to the management.
  • Conducting & organizing various awareness programmes including personal hygiene, Health, occupational safety, discipline. Monthly Skip level meeting etc.,
IR Climate
  • Building very strong IR climate within the factory premises with high level of Trust, Respect, Passion and Execution Excellence
  • Drive monthly small group meetings to promote business understanding, creating engaged workforce and understanding business priorities
  • Ensuring conducive & smooth working environment for all employees
  • Negotiation and settlement of any disputes/difference raised by the union
  • Attending and representing the Management in conciliation hearing, court of enquiry, Adjudication and arbitration etc., and amicably settling the issues.
Contract Labour Management
  • Ensuring the contractor/s are supplying required manpower as per the specified and agreed terms and conditions
  • Provision of Welfare and safety measures to all contract labourers
  • Payment of wages and other benefits reaching the labourers on time
  • Handling day to day issues/grievances pertaining to contractor and contract leabourer
  • Ensuring principal and contract relationship is maintained at all time
Corporate Social Responsibility:
  • Suggesting and supporting various CSR initiatives in and around the Factory location in coordination with the Corporate HR and CSR Chairman
Other routines
  • Monitoring daily attendance and leave of employees
  • Suggesting and initiating suitable disciplinary action against the erring workmen and staff
  • Presenting monthly HR MIS to Top Management
  • Ensuring wages & other payments are made on time to employees.
  • Ensuring salary inputs are sent on time to Head office for payroll process
  • Conducting Exit Interview and sharing the feedback to the Management.
  • Accountabilities:Availability of Manpower for operations and Manpower Cost
  • Achieving training man-days.
  • Updating skill matrix and training records
  • Creating engaged workforce and conducive work environment
  • CSR Activities
  • Min. 2 Kaizens in a year
Essential Educational and / or Training Qualifications & Certificates

Post Graduate degree in Social Work or Social Dynamics or Personnel Management & Industrial Relations or M.B.A. with Specialization in HR.

Preferred Experience and Knowledge

Working experience of min.10-12 years in HRM

Skills: Good communication, interpersonal, presentation skill, Meeting deadlines, multitasking and delivering results

Specialized Knowledge: HR Functions of a large Industrial sector, Statutory compliance, Managing multi task

Working knowledge of MS Office

Necessary Technical / Functional Skills

Communication, Leadership, Negotiation, Convincing, Interpersonal, Problem solving, Result orientation etc.,
