Job summary

Corenza for HRs in Bengaluru seeks an experienced Senior HR Manager to lead the HR function in a large manufacturing setup. You will oversee end-to-end HR operations, workforce management, and compliance with labour laws while partnering with Production and Operations to align HR with business goals.

Qualifications

  • 5–10 years of HR experience in manufacturing.
  • Experience managing approximately 200 employees, including 120 operators.
  • Strong knowledge of Indian labour laws and compliance.
  • Hands-on HR operations including payroll, attendance, and recruitment.
  • MBA/PGDM in Human Resources is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end HR operations for the manufacturing facility.
  • Manage a workforce of ~200 employees, including 120+ operators.
  • Oversee onboarding, attendance, leave, transfers, promotions, disciplinary actions, and exits.
  • Develop and implement HR policies, processes, and SOPs.
  • Ensure alignment between HR, Production, and Operations.
  • Handle labour law compliance, audits, and statutory filings.
  • Drive recruitment and talent management for technical and supervisory roles.
  • Foster strong employee relations and a positive workplace culture.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced and hands‑on Senior HR Manager to lead the HR function in a large manufacturing setup. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of labour laws, statutory compliance, employee relations, workforce management, and HR operations, with proven experience in managing a workforce of approximately 200 employees, including around 120 operators. The candidate should be comfortable working in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment and managing both strategic and day‑to‑day HR activities.

Key Responsibilities
1. HR Operations & Workforce Management
  • Manage end-to-end HR operations for the manufacturing facility.
  • Handle a workforce of approximately 200 employees, including 120+ operators.
  • Manage employee lifecycle activities including onboarding, attendance, leave, transfers, promotions, disciplinary actions, and exits.
  • Develop and implement effective HR policies, processes, and SOPs.
  • Ensure smooth coordination between HR, Production, Operations, and other departments.
2. Labour Laws & Statutory Compliance
  • Possess strong and practical knowledge of Indian labour laws and employment regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable labour laws, including Factories Act, Industrial Disputes Act, Shops & Establishments Act, PF, ESI, Bonus, Gratuity, Minimum Wages, Payment of Wages, and other applicable regulations.
  • Manage statutory registers, records, filings, audits, and inspections.
  • Coordinate with government authorities and external consultants whenever required.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable statutory requirements.
3. Employee Relations & Industrial Relations
  • Handle employee grievances and disciplinary matters effectively.
  • Manage employee relations and maintain a positive workplace environment.
  • Handle disciplinary proceedings, domestic enquiries, show‑cause notices, and related documentation.
  • Support management in resolving employee and workforce‑related issues.
  • Develop strong relationships with operators, supervisors, and other employees.
4. Manufacturing HR
  • Work closely with Production and Operations teams to understand workforce requirements.
  • Manage manpower planning, shift requirements, absenteeism, overtime, and workforce productivity.
  • Handle operator‑level workforce challenges and ensure adequate manpower availability.
  • Monitor attendance, attrition, absenteeism, and employee engagement.
  • Support productivity and performance improvement initiatives
5. Recruitment & Talent Management
  • Manage recruitment for technical, supervisory, and managerial positions.
  • Work with hiring managers to understand manpower requirements
  • Drive effective onboarding and induction programs.
  • Support performance management, training, career development, and succession planning.
  • Develop HR strategies aligned with business and manufacturing objectives.
  • Provide HR insights and workforce‑related recommendations to senior management.
  • Prepare and present HR MIS and key workforce metrics.
  • Drive employee engagement, retention, training, and organizational development initiatives.
Key Requirements
  • 5–10 years of overall HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing setup.
  • Strong experience working in a large manufacturing organization.
  • Proven experience managing approximately 200 employees, including around 120 operators.
  • Deep practical knowledge of labour laws and statutory compliance.
  • Strong experience in employee relations / industrial relations.
  • Hands‑on experience in managing shop‑floor workforce and operator‑level employees.
  • Strong knowledge of HR operations, payroll, attendance, recruitment, performance management, and employee engagement.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict‑resolution skills.
  • Ability to work independently and handle a high‑volume, fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • MBA / PGDM in Human Resources or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience in manufacturing industries will be preferred.
  • Experience handling labour contractors and contract workforce
  • Exposure to HR audits, statutory inspections, and compliance audits will be preferred.
