Job summary

Kofteci Foodkrafts in Chennai, India is seeking a dedicated Housekeeping Steward (KST) to maintain cleanliness and hygiene across dining rooms, kitchen and back-of-house areas in line with fine-dining standards.

You will follow daily cleaning schedules, handle dishwashing equipment safely, and support kitchen and service teams with cleaning during operations, ensuring waste is managed and sanitation measures are consistently applied.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of housekeeping/kitchen stewarding experience, preferably in fine dining.
• Knowledge of cleaning procedures, sanitation, and hygiene standards.
• Ability to operate dishwashing equipment and handle cleaning chemicals safely.
• Good teamwork, discipline, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, dining spaces, washrooms, and back-of-house areas.
• Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, dishes, and workstations.
• Ensure proper washing, drying, and storage of crockery, cutlery, and kitchen equipment.
• Follow hygiene, sanitation, and food safety standards.
• Collect and dispose of waste properly and maintain waste segregation.
• Ensure cleaning supplies and chemicals are used and stored safely.
• Assist kitchen and service teams with cleaning requirements during operations.
• Maintain cleanliness of floors, drains, storage areas, and garbage disposal zones.
• Follow daily cleaning schedules and restaurant SOPs.
