Job summary

HINDUSTAN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY & SCIENCE (HITS) in Tamil Nadu seeks a Hostel Administrator to oversee daily hostel operations, including housekeeping, catering, maintenance and security, while maintaining resident records.

You will enforce rules, handle grievances, ensure safety, engage students through activities, and coordinate with management and service providers, submitting regular reports on hostel functioning and resident welfare.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily functioning of the hostel including housekeeping, catering, maintenance, and security.
• Maintain updated records of residents, attendance, and visitors.
• Ensure timely resolution of maintenance and facility-related issues.
• Enforce hostel rules and regulations, ensuring discipline and harmonious living among residents.
• Act as the first point of contact for grievances, emergencies, and welfare concerns of residents.
• Promote a healthy, inclusive, and safe hostel culture.
• Ensure proper security arrangements, including monitoring entry/exit and visitor management.
• Conduct periodic checks on facilities to ensure safety and hygiene standards are maintained.
• Handle emergency situations effectively and coordinate with authorities when required.
• Provide guidance, counseling, and support to students in personal, academic, or adjustment-related matters.
• Organize hostel activities and orientation sessions to promote community living.
• Liaise with management, faculty (in case of student hostels), parents/guardians, and service providers as required.
• Submit regular reports on hostel functioning, discipline, and resident welfare to the administration.

Key Responsibilities:
