Job summary

DAR Engineering seeks an experienced Senior Tendering Engineer for its Chennai operations. The role focuses on preparing techno-commercial proposals and bid submissions for Power, Substation, BESS, Solar PV, Wind, and renewable design projects.

You will coordinate with engineering teams to develop cost estimates and ensure timely, competitive tenders. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in tendering, estimation, and proposal engineering for energy projects, with good knowledge of

Qualifications

• Experience in tendering, estimation, proposal engineering, or design engineering for power and renewable energy projects.
• Good understanding of HV/EHV Substations (AIS/GIS) and Transmission & Distribution.
• Familiarity with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Solar PV and Wind projects.
• Strong technical and commercial awareness and risk assessment.

Responsibilities

• Review RFQs, RFPs, tender documents and client specifications.
• Develop technical proposals and cost estimates for power/renewable projects.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement and project teams to prepare bids.
• Prepare commercial proposals and bid documentation with clear compliance matrices.
• Maintain tender records, trackers and databases and ensure deadlines.
• Support pre-bid meetings and technical presentations.

Position: Senior Tendering Engineer

Job Summary:

DAR Engineering is seeking an experienced Tendering Engineer. The Tendering Engineer will be responsible for preparing techno-commercial proposals and supporting bid submissions for Power, Substation, Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), Solar PV, Wind, and Renewable Energy design engineering projects. The role involves reviewing client requirements, coordinating with engineering teams, preparing cost estimates, and ensuring timely submission of competitive tenders.

Required Qualifications:

• Experience in tendering, estimation, proposal engineering, or design engineering for power and renewable energy projects.
• Good understanding of:
• HV/EHV Substations (AIS/GIS)
• Transmission & Distribution systems
• Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
• Solar PV and Wind Power projects
• Electrical design engineering deliverables

Required Skills:

• Tendering and proposal preparation.
• Cost estimation and man-hour calculation.

Key Responsibilities :

• Review RFQs, RFPs, tender documents, and client specifications.
• Analyze project scope, technical requirements, and deliverables for power, substation, BESS, and renewable energy projects.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and project teams to develop technical proposals.
• Prepare cost estimates, man-hour calculations, and commercial proposals for design engineering services.
• Develop bid documentation, technical compliance matrices, and clarifications.
• Identify project risks, assumptions, exclusions, and opportunities during the tender stage.
• Support customer discussions, pre-bid meetings, and technical presentations.
• Maintain tender records, bid status trackers, and proposal databases.
• Ensure compliance with company procedures, client requirements, and tender deadlines.
• Assist in contract review and project handover upon award.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience with EPC, Owners Engineer, or Design Consultancy projects.
• Familiarity with international standards such as IEC, IEEE, and utility requirements.
• Exposure to utility-scale renewable energy and grid interconnection projects.
