Job summary

The Steel Fabrication Floor Engineer at National Power Engineering Company will supervise day-to-day fabrication activities on the shop floor, ensuring work is carried out as per approved drawings, quality standards, and production schedules.

Responsibilities include coordinating with detailers, QA/QC, and production teams; monitoring manpower, productivity, and progress; and ensuring safety norms and proper housekeeping on the shop floor.

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering required.
• Knowledge of steel fabrication processes and workshop practices.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate shop floor steel fabrication activities including cutting, fitting, welding, drilling, and assembly.
• Study and interpret fabrication and GA drawings and ensure execution as per drawings.
• Coordinate with detailers, production team, and QA/QC to resolve drawing or fabrication issues.
• Monitor manpower deployment, productivity, and daily work progress.
• Ensure fabrication is carried out as per quality standards, WPS, and safety norms.
• Identify and report material shortages, deviations, and rework issues.
• Maintain daily production reports and update project status to seniors.
• Coordinate with stores for raw material issue and traceability.
• Support inspection activities with client / third-party inspectors.
• Ensure proper housekeeping and safety compliance on the shop floor.

• Basic knowledge of QA/QC and safety practice
• Good coordination and communication skills
