Job summary

National Power Engineering Company is seeking a Steel Fabrication Floor Engineer to supervise day-to-day shop floor activities, ensuring work aligns with approved drawings, quality standards, and production schedules.

You will coordinate cutting, fitting, welding and assembly, study GA drawings, monitor progress, ensure safety, and report material shortages while supporting QA/QC and client inspections.

Qualifications

• BE / B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (required).
• Strong knowledge of steel fabrication processes and workshop practices.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate shop floor steel fabrication activities including cutting, fitting, welding, drilling, and assembly.
• Study and interpret fabrication and GA drawings and ensure execution as per drawings.
• Coordinate with detailers, production team, and QA/QC to resolve drawing or fabrication issues.
• Monitor manpower deployment, productivity, and daily work progress.
• Ensure fabrication is carried out as per quality standards, WPS, and safety norms.
• Identify and report material shortages, deviations, and rework issues.
• Maintain daily production reports and update project status to seniors.
• Coordinate with stores for raw material issue and traceability.
• Support inspection activities with client / third-party inspectors.
• Ensure proper housekeeping and safety compliance on the shop floor.

• Basic knowledge of QA/QC and safety practice
• Good coordination and communication skills
