Job summary

Taurianmps in India invites an experienced fabrication supervisor to oversee day-to-day shop floor activities including cutting, welding, grinding and fitting. You will ensure production progress aligns with plan, read engineering drawings, and convey requirements to fabricators and welders.

The role emphasizes planning support, manpower allocation, materials coordination, in-process inspection, DPR preparation, and maintaining 5S standards while ensuring safety and timely reporting.

Qualifications

• Bills of drawings and drawings reading required.
• Fundamental fabrication processes knowledge (cutting/welding/fitting).
• Proficiency with Excel for DPRs and trackers.
• Understanding of welding symbols and material grades.
• Ability to read measuring instruments accurately.
• Experience in reporting and team coordination.
• Basic production planning and scheduling awareness.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day fabrication activities (cutting, welding, grinding, fitting).
• Monitor fabrication progress against plan and update status daily.
• Identify bottlenecks and report shortages, manpower gaps, machine breakdowns.
• Read and interpret drawings; communicate requirements to fabricators and welders.
• Assist Planning Manager in preparing daily/weekly schedules.
• Allocate and monitor fabrication manpower (welders, fitters, helpers).
• Coordinate with stores for raw material and bought-out items.
• Coordinate with QC for in-process inspection and dimensional checks.
• Prepare and submit Daily Production Report (DPR).
• Maintain fabrication tracker and manpower utilization in Excel.
• Ensure shop floor discipline, safety compliance, and 5S standards.

• Ensure shop floor discipline, safety compliance, and 5S standards

Preferred candidate profile

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings confidently
