Job summary

Harita Techserv in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, invites applications for a Development Engineer focused on part development and NPD in the automotive sector. You will lead end-to-end development from engineering spec to PPAP and production, coordinating with R&D, Quality and suppliers.

The role requires hands-on experience in pressing, sheet-metal, fabrication and welding, with exposure to APQP, PFMEA and control plans. Diploma/B.E/B.Tech in Mechanical/Automobile is preferred.

Qualifications

• Diploma / BE / BTech in Mechanical/Automobile required.
• Hands-on experience in automotive part development preferred.
• Exposure to APQP, PFMEA and PPAP processes desired.

Responsibilities

• Develop pressing, sheet-metal, fabrication and welded parts as per drawings/specifications.
• Review GD&T, manufacturing feasibility and provide DFM/DFA inputs.
• Define manufacturing process routes, tooling, fixtures and welding processes.
• Coordinate with R&D, Quality, suppliers and tooling vendors for NPD activities.
• Handle APQP, PFMEA, Control Plan, PPAP and process validation.
• Conduct supplier process reviews, trials and development audits to meet QCD targets.
• Support part/tool costing, target cost and cost reduction initiatives.
• Drive process improvement, automation and Poka-Yoke initiatives.
• Ensure timely part development per project milestones and support SOP readiness.
• Working knowledge of SAP MM is preferred.

Job Summary

Looking for a Development Engineer with strong experience in automotive part development, manufacturing feasibility, fabrication and welding. The role involves end-to-end development and industrialization of pressing and fabricated parts from engineering specification to PPAP and production.
