Job summary

Tata Elxsi in Pune invites an experienced HIL validation lead to drive end-to-end validation of automotive ECUs and vehicle systems. You will define strategy, manage test benches, and coordinate with multiple teams to ensure high-quality validation results.

The role requires strong model-based development skills (MATLAB/Simulink, Stateflow), experience with HIL/DSPACE tools, and familiarity with Automotive SPICE and ISO 26262 processes. You will mentor engineers and ensure on-time deliverables.

Qualifications

• Experience in HIL validation of automotive ECUs and vehicle systems.
• Strong knowledge of model-based development and plant model integration.
• Proficiency with MATLAB/Simulink and Stateflow for validation workflows.
• Familiarity with traceability from requirements to test cases and results.
• Experience with ISO 26262 and safety-related validation processes.
• Knowledge of AUTOSAR concepts and requirements management.
• Experience with HIL test benches, automation frameworks, and CI/CD integration.
• Familiarity with dSPACE tools (SCALEXIO, ControlDesk) and CANoe/CANalyzer.

Responsibilities

Role & responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) projects for automotive ECU and vehicle system validation.
• Define HIL validation strategy, project scope, schedules, milestones, and deliverables.
• Manage HIL test bench development, integration, commissioning, and maintenance activities.
• Coordinate with system, software, controls, calibration, and validation teams to ensure project alignment.
• Drive requirements analysis and creation of HIL validation plans and test specifications.
• Oversee development of plant models, simulation environments, and automated test frameworks.
• Ensure traceability from requirements to HIL test cases and validation results.
• Monitor project risks, issues, dependencies, and mitigation plans.
• Lead defect triage, root cause analysis, and issue resolution with cross-functional teams.
• Manage project resources, effort estimation, and capacity planning.
• Track project KPIs, test execution progress, and quality metrics.
• Ensure compliance with Automotive SPICE, Functional Safety (ISO 26262), and customer processes.
• Review and approve HIL architectures, test cases, test reports, and release recommendations.
• Drive test automation, process improvements, and reuse strategies.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to HIL engineers and team members.
• Coordinate supplier activities and ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
