Job summary

Tata Elxsi in Chennai is seeking a skilled test engineer for automotive ECUs and HIL environments to support R&D and testing of body, chassis and safety systems.

You will work with CAN/LIN/UDS protocols, develop test procedures, automate tests with CAPL and Python, and help validate vehicle features across diags and network management.

Experience with AUTOSAR awareness and DSPACE/VT systems preferred; strong scripting and test execution capabilities are essential.

Qualifications

• Hands-on with HIL system hardware and testing tools such as VT System/dSPACE.
• Experience in CAN, LIN, UDS and Diagnostics Protocols/Standards.
• Good exposure to BCM and vehicle network management.
• Test automation using CAPL/Automation Desk.
• Development of test cases/test procedures from requirements and vehicle functional specs.
• Python scripts and MATLAB M scripts.
• Vehicle topology and architecture understanding.
• Development/validation exposure on latest vehicle features.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain test automation for ECU validation.

Essential:

• Good hands on with HIL System hardware and testing tools such as VT System/dSPACE based.
• Experience in communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, UDS and Diagnostics Protocols/Standards.
• Good system level understanding of EE Body/Driver Assist/Safety Electronics domains.
• Good exposure to BCM
• Test automation experience using tools such as CAPL/Automation Desk.
• Diagnostics and network management functions of vehicle electronics.
• Development of test cases/test procedures, test scripts from requirements and vehicle functional specification documents.
• Hands on experience with Python scripts and MATLAB M scripts.
• Vehicle functional requirements and ECU schematics.
• Vehicle topology and architecture.
• Development/validation exposure on latest vehicle features.

Desirable:

• Development experience in embedded systems.
• Familiarity in developing and validating Body and Chassis vehicle features in White Box (ECU software level) and Black Box level.
