Gemcare Poulomi Hospitals invites an experienced Hematology Technician to join our clinical laboratory. You will run blood tests, analyze samples, and ensure accurate data for diagnosing hematological disorders, anemia, infections, and coagulation issues.

The role requires hands-on experience with CBC, ESR, PBS, smear preparation, and quality control, complying with NABH standards and LIS reporting. A relevant MLT degree and 1–4 years in hospital labs are preferred.

Qualificações

• Education in MLT (BMLT/DMLT or MSc-MLT) required.
• 1–4 years of hematology lab experience.
• Experience with CBC, ESR, PBS and coagulation testing helpful.

Responsabilidades

• Process blood samples for routine hematology tests including CBC, ESR, Reticulocyte Count, PBS, PT/INR, APTT.
• Prepare and stain slides; examine morphology of blood cells under microscope.
• Operate, calibrate, and troubleshoot automated hematology analyzers and coagulation equipment.
• Perform daily QC and maintain EQAS logs; ensure NABH standards compliance.
• PrioritizeSTAT samples from ICU, Emergency, and wards.
• Record results in LIS and ensure biohazard safety guidelines are followed.

Role & responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced and meticulous Hematology Technician to join our hospitals clinical laboratory department. In this role, you will be responsible for running blood tests, analyzing blood samples, and providing accurate data essential for diagnosing hematological disorders, anemia, infections, and coagulation conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Sample Processing & Testing: Process blood samples for routine and specialized hematology tests, including Complete Blood Count (CBC), ESR, Reticulocyte Count, Peripheral Blood Smear (PBS) analysis, and Coagulation Profiles (PT/INR, APTT).
• Smear Preparation & Microscopy: Prepare, stain (Leishman, Giemsa), and examine peripheral blood slides under microscopy to identify abnormal blood cells or morphology.
• Automated Analyzer Management: Operate, calibrate, and troubleshoot automated hematology analyzers and coagulation equipment.
• Quality Control (QC): Run daily internal and external quality controls (EQAS), maintain QC logs, and ensure precise calibration and quality standards compliance (NABH).
• Urgent Sample Handling (STAT): Prioritize and rapidly process urgent/STAT blood samples from ICU, Emergency, and Surgical wards.
• Documentation & Safety: Record and verify patient results accurately in the Laboratory Information System (LIS) and adhere strictly to biohazard safety and bio-medical waste management guidelines.

Desired Candidate Profile

Education

B.Sc. in Medical Laboratory Technology (BMLT), Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT), or M.Sc. in MLT.

Experience: [1-4] years of clinical laboratory experience specializing in Hematology within a hospital or high-volume diagnostic setup.

Skills

• Proficiency in manual peripheral blood smear examination and differential counts.
• Experience with automated hematology analyzers (e.g., Sysmex, Beckman Coulter, Mindray).
• In-depth understanding of blood coagulation testing and quality control protocols.
• Familiarity with NABH laboratory accreditation standards.
• Good computer skills to handle LIS software and reporting.
