Job summary

Karan Kothari Jewellers in Nagpur, India seeks an experienced Architect/Project Lead to drive architectural design, planning, and store development for premium jewellery showrooms. You will coordinate cross-functional teams, manage vendors, and ensure regulatory compliance to deliver luxurious retail spaces.

The role focuses on concept creation, detailed drawings, cost control, and site supervision across new showrooms and renovations in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop architectural concepts, layouts, floor plans, elevations, and 3D visualizations.
• Prepare detailed working drawings and construction documentation.
• Ensure all designs align with the company's branding, functionality, and customer experience standards.
• Optimize space utilization while maintaining aesthetics and operational efficiency.
• Coordinate the execution of new showroom construction and renovation projects.
• Monitor project progress to ensure timely completion.
• Conduct regular site visits to monitor quality and resolve technical issues.
• Ensure work execution complies with approved drawings and specifications.
• Identify and evaluate contractors, consultants, and vendors.
• Float enquiries, evaluate quotations, and recommend suitable vendors.
• Monitor contractor performance for quality, timelines, and safety.
• Verify contractor bills and certify completed work.
• Prepare project cost estimates and BOQs (Bill of Quantities).
• Track project expenditure against approved budgets.
• Identify opportunities for cost optimization without compromising quality.
• Control project variations and additional costs.
• Design premium jewellery showroom interiors.
• Coordinate with lighting, HVAC, electrical, and display consultants.
• Ensure optimal customer movement, product visibility, and luxury retail ambience.
• Plan furniture, display counters, storage, signage, and branding elements.
• Obtain necessary approvals from local authorities.
• Ensure compliance with municipal by-laws, fire safety norms, and statutory regulations.
• Coordinate with government departments for project approvals and certifications.
• Work closely with Retail, Administration, IT, Marketing, Security, Finance, and Purchase teams.
• Coordinate with MEP consultants and civil contractors.
• Ensure all stakeholder requirements are incorporated into project execution.
• Ensure adherence to company quality standards.
• Monitor construction quality and material specifications.
• Ensure implementation of safety norms at project sites.
• Maintain project documentation, drawings, contracts, approvals, and reports.
• Submit weekly and monthly project progress reports.
• Track project milestones and highlight risks with mitigation plans.
