Job summary

Progressive Steel in Delhi, India seeks a strategic QA/QC leader to drive quality across raw materials, in-process, heat treatment, final inspection, and customer quality. The role partners with OEMs to resolve issues, leads root-cause analysis, and standardizes PPAP/APQP processes.

The successful candidate will implement core quality tools, lead Kaizen and Six Sigma projects, and reduce COPQ while ensuring compliance with IATF 16949:2016 and ISO 9001 standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and build the QA/QC team across Raw Material Inspection, In-Process Quality, Heat Treatment Quality, Final Inspection, and Customer Quality.
• Define and execute the companys quality strategy, policies, and KPI targets (e.g., PPM reduction, COPQ, scrap rate reduction, First Time Right).
• Oversee quality standards across core manufacturing processes: Blanking, Machining (CNC/VMC/Broaching), Tooth Hobbing/Shaping, Heat Treatment, Surface Treatment/Coating, and Stamping.
• Oversee critical metallurgical testing, case depth/hardness profiles, grain structure analysis, and dimensional accuracy (runout, tooth profile, circularity).
• Act as the primary point of contact for Tier-1 and Tier-2 OEM quality audits, technical discussions, and resolving quality issues.
• Drive swift, structured root cause analysis and corrective actions (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone) for non-conformances (internal and customer-reported).
• Standardize PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) submissions, APQP activities, and engineering change requests (ECN/ECR).
• Utilize Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA) to establish robust Quality Gates on the shop floor.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives (Kaizen, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing) to reduce cycle times and waste.

Key Responsibilities

2. Sprocket & Manufacturing Quality Control

• Oversee quality standards across core manufacturing processes: Blanking, Machining (CNC/VMC/Broaching), Tooth Hobbing/Shaping, Heat Treatment (Induction Hardening/Carburizing), Surface Treatment/Coating, and Stamping.
• Oversee critical metallurgical testing, case depth/hardness profiles, grain structure analysis, and dimensional accuracy (runout, tooth profile, circularity).

3. OEM & Customer Quality Management

• Act as the primary point of contact for Tier-1 and Tier-2 OEM quality audits, technical discussions, and resolving quality issues.
• Drive swift, structured root cause analysis and corrective actions (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone) for non-conformances (internal and customer-reported).

4. Systems, Audits & Continuous Improvement
