As Quality Manager, you lead the plant quality function to deliver zero-defect manufacturing, exceed customer expectations, and ensure compliance with OEM, IATF, and regulatory standards. You drive a culture of continuous improvement by leveragingrobust quality systems, data-driven decision-making, and disciplined problem-solving.Through strong leadership and collaboration across manufacturing, engineering, supplierquality, and customer teams, you enable operational excellence in quality performanceand customer satisfaction while developing a high-performing quality organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the site quality function to consistently achieve world-class quality performance,customer satisfaction, and compliance with OEM and industry standards.
- Champion zero-defect manufacturing by driving proactive quality planning, riskmitigation, and continuous improvement initiatives across welding and assemblyoperations.
- Lead customer quality management activities, including customer complaints, audits,issue resolution, and timely closure of corrective actions.
- Ensure effective implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of theQuality Management System (QMS) in compliance with IATF 16949, ISO standards, andcustomer-specific requirements.
- Drive defect reduction initiatives through structured problem-solving methodologiesand implementation of Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) reduction strategies.
- Oversee Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process(PPAP), Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), Statistical Process Control(SPC), Measurement System Analysis (MSA), Control Plans, and implementation of 7QCtools.
- Lead root cause analysis, corrective and preventive action (CAPA) processes, andsystematic containment activities for internal and external quality concerns.
- Partner with manufacturing, engineering, maintenance, supplier quality, and customerteams to resolve quality issues and improve process capability.
- Establish and monitor quality KPIs, performance metrics, and reporting systems to driveaccountability and visibility across the organization.
- Develop and coach a high-performing quality team, fostering technical excellence,ownership, and continuous learning.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, regulatory, and customerrequirements while promoting operational discipline and best practices.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Production Engineering, AutomobileEngineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum 15+ years of experience in Quality Management within a Tier-1 automotivemanufacturing environment.
- Strong expertise in welding and assembly manufacturing processes and qualitymanagement systems.
- Proven experience in customer quality management, audit management, complainthandling, and corrective action implementation.
- Demonstrated knowledge and practical application of IATF 16949, APQP, PPAP, PFMEA,SPC, MSA, Control Plans, and core quality tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience driving defect reductionand continuous improvement initiatives.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and influencing stakeholders to achievequality and business objectives.
- Proficiency in interpreting customer requirements, regulatory standards, and qualitysystem expectations.
- Effective communication, coaching, and leadership skills with a strong ownershipmindset and customer focus.
- Relevant quality certifications and automotive quality credentials are preferred.
