Job summary

Chemicals And Ferro Alloys is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance leader for its Dharwad and Nashik units. The role will oversee Incoming, In-Process and Customer Quality activities, and drive quality in production, audits, and supplier development.

The candidate will work with manufacturing teams to ensure process parameters and quality standards are met. The ideal candidate is an engineering graduate with a PG in Operations and 15–20 years of experience, including at least 10 years in a

• Engineering graduate with a post-graduate qualification in Operations or related area.
• 15–20 years of experience including at least 10 years in a managerial role overseeing QA at plant level.
• Exposure to casting manufacturing processes (steel) with knowledge of aluminum casting desirable.

Job description

We have 2 openings one in Dharwad & another in our Nashik units. preferred candidates from investment castings or allied manufacturing industries.

Role & responsibilities

Areas of experience sought:

• Responsible for the oversight of all Incoming , In-Process and Customer Quality activities.
• Responsible for the oversight of the production and quality check activities.
• Should have exposure of manufacturing process of castings in steel, additionally knowledge of aluminum casting will be desirable.

Major responsibilities in Incoming Quality will be -

• To set up the system of inward inspection by deciding the proper sampling plan.
• Auditing and developing the Quality standards at Supplier end.
• Will attend to any problems raised by supplier in achieving the Quality standard as prescribed in the drawing or any related documents.
• Will work in tandem with the supplier development team while choosing a new supplier.
• Will conduct Supplier audits at prescribed formats at supplier end.

Major responsibilities in Process Quality will be :

• Monitoring, maintaining and upgrading the in process Quality through :
• Review of PFMEA/Control Plan/Standard Operating Procedures
• Conducting process and product audits.
• Auditing the implementation of corrective actions taken in case of internal or customer Quality concern.
• Training the team members on usage of Quality tools
• Will work closely with the manufacturing team to ensure all processes parameters are maintained during production.
• Monitor and maintain the calibration status of measuring instruments in the plants.

Major responsibilities in Customer Quality will be :

• Will be the face of company for the customer and interact with them on any Quality related issues.
• Achieving the desired Quality standards to meet each customers requirements.
• Attend to all customer needs, attend to any complaints, or returns.
• To give prompt response to any communication received from customer. Role will be responsible for analyzing the complaints using Quality Tools and reporting back to the customer.
• To communicate the awareness of customer requirements throughout the organisation and to champion Quality and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Attending to all the audits carried out by customer and closing any NCs.
• Will be a part of the team handling improvements or development of new products.
• Effectively meet quality, service, delivery, and cost parameters at the organisational level.
• Maintain systems to ensure Quality Assurance as per the set standards.
• Apply necessary continuous improvement tools to streamline efficiency and effectiveness of Quality Assurance activities.
• Coordinate with engineering, supply chain, and production to establish corrective actions regarding quality related issues.
• Lead the transformation of the Quality Assurance operation in line with or ahead of the demands of our businesses.
• Will be responsible for coordinating various audits or inspections with related agencies.

Leadership:

The candidate will need to show leadership ability to drive transformational cultural change to enable the business to deliver operational efficiency.

Preferred candidate profile

The ideal candidate is an engineering graduate with a post-graduate qualification in Operations or related area and 15 -20 years experience including at least 10 years at a managerial level with responsibility for managing Quality Assurance function at plant level.
