Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering or Metallurgy.
• 8–12 years of Automotive Supplier Quality experience.
• Strong exposure to development and management of Casting and Machining suppliers.
• Certifications in Quality Systems (VDA 6.3, Core Tools, Six Sigma or CQI) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage quality performance of suppliers for Castings & Machined components and other listed processes.
• Monitor supplier PPM, customer complaints, supplier scorecards and KPIs.
• Drive supplier quality improvement plans and closure.
• Lead supplier performance reviews and escalation management.
• Support APQP implementation at suppliers and PPAP submissions.

Position: Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) Engineer / Senior Engineer SQA ( Casting & Machining prefered )

Location :Gurgaon / Manesar, Haryana

Department : SQA

Reporting To : Supplier Quality Manager / Head Quality

Job Purpose

The Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer will be responsible for ensuring supplier quality performance for all commodities / Technology (experience in Castings and Machined Components preferred) through supplier development, APQP execution, PPAP approval, process audits, problem solving, and continuous improvement activities. The role will act as the key interface between suppliers, purchasing, manufacturing, and project teams to ensure zero-defect product delivery and robust supplier processes.

Key Responsibilities

Supplier Quality Management

• Manage quality performance of suppliers for Castings & Machined components, Plastic Moulding etc.
• Monitor supplier PPM, customer complaints, supplier scorecards, and quality KPIs.
• Drive supplier quality improvement plans and monitor closure.
• Lead supplier performance reviews and escalation management.

New Project & APQP Activities

• Support supplier selection and technical feasibility assessments.
• Ensure APQP implementation at suppliers in line with customer and company requirements.
• Review and approve PPAP submissions.
• Conduct Run-at-Rate, process readiness, and production validation activities.
• Ensure timely achievement of project milestones during product launches.

Process Audits & Supplier Development

• Conduct Supplier Process Audits (VDA 6.3, IATF 16949-based audits).
• Evaluate foundry and machining process controls.
• Drive process capability improvements.
• Assess and develop suppliers for quality system compliance and manufacturing excellence.

Problem Solving & Corrective Actions

• Lead supplier concern management using:
• 8D Methodology
• 5 Why Analysis
• Fishbone Analysis
• A3 Problem Solving
• Verify root cause analysis and effectiveness of corrective actions.
• Drive containment actions for field and customer issues.

Technical Quality Assurance

• Evaluate manufacturing processes related to:
• Aluminum Casting
• Die Casting
• Gravity Die Casting
• Sand Casting
• CNC Machining
• Precision Machining Operations
• Review process FMEA, Control Plans, MSA, and SPC studies.
• Validate dimensional and metallurgical compliance of supplied components.

Cross-Functional Coordination

• Coordinate with Purchasing, Engineering, Production, Logistics, and Program Management teams.
• Support customer audits and supplier visits.
• Participate in cost reduction and localization projects.

Educational Qualification

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering / Production Engineering / Metallurgy.
• Additional certifications in Quality Systems, VDA 6.3, Core Tools, Six Sigma, or CQI standards preferred.

For Senior Engineer / Asst. Manager

• 8-12 years of experience in Automotive Supplier Quality.
• Strong exposure to development and management of Casting and Machining suppliers.
