Job description

Role Purpose

Lead the materials management and procurement function for the Water EPC business, ensuring cost-effective, timely and reliable sourcing of equipment and materials. Drive strategic sourcing, vendor partnerships and supply chain excellence to optimize project costs, mitigate procurement risks and enhance overall project profitability.

Strategic Sourcing & Vendor Management
  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies for key equipment and material categories to optimize cost, quality and delivery.
  • Build and strengthen strategic relationships with OEMs, suppliers and channel partners, while expanding the vendor base for critical categories.
  • Negotiate long-term commercial agreements and preferential pricing contracts to improve procurement competitiveness and supply assurance.
  • Drive continuous improvement in procurement practices, contract management and commercial terms (e.g., payment terms, LCs, warranties).
Procurement Planning & Cost Management
  • Engage early during proposal and project planning to identify procurement opportunities, cost risks and sourcing strategies that improve project profitability.
  • Ensure procurement plans are aligned with project schedules, engineering requirements and budget commitments.
  • Drive cost optimization initiatives through supplier negotiations, value engineering and category management while ensuring quality and delivery standards.
Supply Chain & Project Support
  • Oversee procurement execution to ensure timely availability of materials and equipment for project execution.
  • Monitor supplier performance, delivery schedules and procurement risks, proactively resolving supply chain bottlenecks.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, project management and construction teams to support seamless project execution.
Organization & Governance
  • Build and develop a high-performing procurement organization with strong category management and supplier relationship capabilities.
  • Establish robust procurement governance, vendor performance management and sourcing processes to improve efficiency and compliance.
  • Drive data-driven procurement decisions through supplier benchmarking, spend analytics and continuous improvement initiatives.
Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Supply Chain Management; Masters preferred.
  • 1520 years of experience in procurement/materials management for EPC, industrial or capital projects.
  • Proven track record of strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations and vendor development for high-value engineering equipment.
  • Strong industry network with key equipment suppliers (e.g., pumps, membranes, blowers, valves, electrical and instrumentation vendors).
  • Demonstrated ability to influence project profitability through procurement strategy and commercial negotiations
