Job summary

Chart Industries, Inc. is seeking a seasoned Head - Production at its Sri City, Andhra Pradesh site. The role leads all production activities, plans monthly targets, ensures ISO/QMS compliance, and drives lean initiatives.

The candidate should have BE/B.Tech (Mech.) with 20–25 years in cryogenic, pressure vessel, oil & gas, or capital goods sectors. Strong welding expertise and people management are essential.

Responsibilities

• Manage the entire production area, planning, coordinating and controlling production processes, productivity and maintenance.
• Handle daily production activities including planning, coordination, and control.
• Plan production to meet monthly targets and project schedules.
• Ensure proper man-hour utilization and maintain job cards.
• Cross-verify material indent vs. engineering drawings.
• Maximize manpower efficiency and supervise sub-ordinates.
• Provide technical support and guidelines on production processes.
• Ensure compliance with drawings, QAP and welding procedures (WPS).
• Achieve production targets within time and cost parameters as agreed with management.
• Participate in weekly production meetings with senior management.
• Lead and guide the production department to meet targets.
• Ensure safety, statutory regulations, quality management systems and IMS procedures.
• Work on cost saving through value analysis/value engineering.
• Implement Lean and Six Sigma for continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with procurement, quality, design and planning for smooth workflow.
• Provide service and technical support to customers.
• Maintain safe working environment and good housekeeping in the workshop.
• Contribute to budget setting and actions for areas under command.
• Define preventive and corrective actions with quality representatives.

Your Experience Should Be...

BE / B. Tech (Mech.) with 20 to 25 years of experience in Cryogenic / PressureVessels /Oil & Gas /Boilers industry or any capital goods manufacturing or any fabrication industry.

Should have good knowledge in welding process (TIG, MIG & SAW) & procedures, testing procedures & ASME codes.

Should have good communication skills.

Should have good people management skills.

Hard working and result oriented approach towards achieving tasks.

What Will You Do?

• Manage theentire productionArea, responsible for planning, coordination and control of all activities related to theproductionprocesses,productivity, and maintenance.
• Responsible for daily productionactivities including planning, coordination, and control.
• Plan theproductionin order to execute the monthlyproductiontarget and Project Schedule.
• Ensure theproductionman-hours are properly utilized and job cards are properly maintained.
• Cross verification of material indent requisition in comparison to engineering drawing.
• Effective utilization of manpower with maximum efficiency.
• Control & supervise the sub-ordinates and give technical support & guidelines related to theproduction processes.
• Ensure theProductionactivities are as per Drawings, QAP and welding Procedures as per WPS.
• Ensure timely accomplishment ofproductiontargets within the time frame and cost parametersmutually agreed with the Management.
• Participate in weeklyproductionmeetings with Senior Management in theproductionactivities.
• Leading and guiding theproductiondepartment team in achieving theproductiontargets.
• Compliance to Safety, Statutory Regulations, Quality Management Systems & IMS Procedures
• Work on cost saving through value analysis / value engineering.
• To create and follow all necessary indicators to evaluate the manufacturing process for continuous improvement practice such as LEAN management and SIX Sigma.
• Provide leadership and support to optimize, standardize and deploy lean principles and practices.
• Reduce the rework and rejection by applying the various tools & process.
• To coordinate with all other supporting departments such as procurement, quality control & assurance, Design, and Planning to ensure smoothproductionworkflow.
• Participate and promote other related professional activities pertinent toproductionaccording to the guidance and directives by the management.
• Provide service & technical support to the customer.
• Ensuresafe working environment & good housekeeping in the workshop.
• Compile the annual Budget, defining with direct subordinates towards the objectives, goals and actions of the areas under his command, with the purpose of achieving the Budget.
• Define preventive and corrective actions along with the quality representative in the processes inherent to the Quality Assurance System, and removal of non-conformities.
• Develop and implement an annual operationsexcellenceplan for process control, cost out opportunities and overall execution.
• Ensure timely accomplishment ofproductiontargets within the time frame and cost parametersmutually agreed with the Management.
• Participate in the development of new products, conducting pertinent studies, analysing theproductioncapacity and other relevant.
• Manage the corrective electrical and mechanical maintenance program to be achieved in theProductionAreas, in conformity with the on-going productive processes so that no interruptions and/or damages occur in the activity.
• Secure the collaboration of theProductionArea in the maintenance of the Quality System and the ISO Certification, by spreading the quality culture among the professionals under the responsibility ofProductionHead and by encouraging the fulfilment of pre-established norms in the Quality Manual.
