Qualitia Software Pvt. Ltd. in Pune, India, seeks a Head of Finance & Accounts to act as the de-facto CFO, owning financial management, compliance infrastructure, and strategic planning for growth and international expansion.

About The Role:

The Head of Finance & Accounts will function as the de-facto CFO of Qualitia, assuming full ownership of the company's financial management, compliance infrastructure, and strategic financial planning. This is a critical leadership role that will partner directly with the Founder & CEO and the Executive team to support Qualitia's continued growth, profitability, and international expansion.

What You'll Do:

• Financial Strategy & Planning
  
  
  
  • Act as the primary financial advisor to the Founder & CEO; provide data-driven financial guidance for strategic decisions.
  
  
  • Lead the annual budgeting and multi-year financial planning process, including revenue forecasting, cost modelling, and scenario analysis.
  
  
  • Drive profitability management – monitor margins, identify cost efficiencies, and ensure the company remains sustainably cash-generative.
  
  
  • Build and maintain Board-ready financial dashboards, MIS packs, and performance reports on a monthly and quarterly basis.
  
  
  • Evaluate and recommend investment strategies, capital allocation decisions, and liquidity management approaches.
  
  
  
  


• Accounting & Financial Reporting
  
  
  
  • Oversee and manage end-to-end accounting operations: general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and month-end/year-end close.
  
  
  • Prepare and present standalone and consolidated financial statements for the India entity and subsidiaries (USA, Australia) in accordance with Ind AS / IFRS.
  
  
  • Manage revenue recognition under Ind AS 115, including multi-element arrangements and SaaS subscription contracts.
  
  
  • Liaise with Statutory Auditors and Internal Auditors to ensure timely completion of audits and resolution of observations.
  
  
  • Maintain and enforce robust financial controls, accounting policies, and SOPs across all entities.
  
  
  
  


• Taxation & Regulatory Compliance
  
  
  
  • Ensure full compliance with all direct tax obligations and advance tax, TDS, income tax returns, and assessments.
  
  
  • Manage GST compliance: monthly/annual filings, ITC reconciliation, audits, and notices.
  
  
  • Handle Transfer Pricing documentation and filings for cross-border transactions with USA and Australia entities.
  
  
  • Oversee FEMA / RBI compliance for foreign remittances, export of services, and overseas subsidiary management.
  
  
  • Minimize tax outgo through proactive tax planning within the framework of applicable laws, in consultation with tax advisors.
  
  
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with Companies Act 2013 requirements, ROC filings, and statutory registers.
  
  
  
  


• Banking, Treasury & Working Capital
  
  
  
  • Build and manage banking relationships; negotiate terms for credit facilities, working capital lines, and banking products.
  
  
  • Oversee treasury operations: cash flow forecasting, FX risk management, and optimization of idle cash.
  
  
  • Administer loan agreements and ensure compliance with financial covenants and reporting requirements.
  
  
  • Manage multi-currency cash flows across India, USA, and Australian entities, including hedging strategies where appropriate.
  
  
  
  


• Investor Relations & Governance
  
  
  
  • Prepare and present financial performance updates to the Board and shareholders; support investor queries with accurate financial data.
  
  
  • Maintain investor-grade financial hygiene and documentation in anticipation of future fundraising, M&A, or liquidity events.
  
  
  • Assist with ESOP plan administration and accounting; advise management on equity-linked compensation structures.
  
  
  • Support due-diligence processes for any strategic partnerships, acquisitions, or investments.
  
  
  
  


• Team Leadership & Process Excellence
  
  
  
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Finance & Accounts team; build capability within the function.
  
  
  • Drive ERP/accounting system improvements and automation to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of financial operations.
  
  
  • Establish and monitor KPIs for the finance function; foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  
  
  • Serve as the financial interface with legal, HR, sales, and operations teams for cross-functional business support.
  
  
  
  

What We're Looking For:

Educational Qualification

• Chartered Accountant (CA) from ICAI is mandatory.


• MBA in Finance from a reputed institution will be an added advantage.

Work Experience

• Minimum 8 – 12 years of progressive finance experience, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role (Head of Finance, Finance Controller, or CFO).


• Prior experience in a technology, SaaS, or software product company is strongly preferred; familiarity with subscription revenue models and SaaS-specific financial metrics (ARR, NRR, CAC) is a plus.


• Demonstrated experience managing multi-entity, multi-currency consolidation – particularly India + US + Australia structures.


• Hands-on exposure to Transfer Pricing, FEMA/RBI compliance, and international taxation.


• Track record of independently managing statutory audits, tax assessments, and regulatory interactions.

Technical Skills

• Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Excel modelling is essential).


• Working knowledge of ERP systems; ability to evaluate and upgrade financial systems.


• Strong command of Ind AS / IFRS, Companies Act 2013, Income Tax Act, and GST law.
