Job summary

Gentoro People Consulting is seeking a Financial Controller located in Mulund, Mumbai. The role reports to the CFO and focuses on financial strategy, planning, and governance for a SaaS business.

The candidate should be a Chartered Accountant with 5–7 years post-qualification experience, and capable of leading audits, improving controls, and collaborating with Sales, Product, and Operations.

Qualifications

• CA is mandatory and post-qualification experience of 5–7 years.
• Experience in SaaS/tech or startup environment is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards and taxation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute financial strategy with the CFO.
• Prepare budgets, forecasts, and cash flow planning.
• Manage monthly/quarterly/annual financial reporting under applicable standards.
• Coordinate audits, taxation, and regulatory compliance.
• Support fundraising activities and investor relations.
• Partner with Sales, Product and Operations to improve profitability.

Position: Financial Controller

Qualification: Chartered Accountant (CA)

Location: Mulund

Experience: 5-7 years

Role Summary

The Assistant CFO will work closely with the CFO and leadership team to manage the company's financial operations, planning, reporting, compliance, fundraising support, and strategic decision-making. The role requires a strong understanding of SaaS business models,

subscription revenue, financial planning, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Strategy & Planning

• Support the CFO / Management in developing and executing the company's financial strategy.
• Prepare annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and long-term financial plans, Cash flow and treasury management

Financial Reporting

• Ensure timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements under AS and Ind AS.
• Knowledge of Taxation (Income Tax , GST , US Tax) and regulatory compliance.
• Prepare management reports, board presentations, and MIS.
• Managing audit and coordination with the auditors for timely completion.
• Ensure updates on AS , Ind AS and applicable accounting standards and statutes.

Controllership & Compliance

• Coordinate statutory, tax, internal, and secretarial audits.
• Implementation of IFC, Internal controls and risk management controls
• Strengthen internal financial controls and risk management processes.
• Manage treasury, banking relationships, and cash flow planning.

Fundraising & Investor Relations

• Support fundraising activities including due diligence and financial data room preparation. Exposure to IPO or fund raising preferable.

Business Partnering

• Partner with Sales, Customer Success, Product, HR, and Operations teams.
• Evaluate pricing models and profitability of products and customers.
• Drive cost optimization and operational efficiency initiatives.

Team Leadership

• Lead and mentor the finance and accounts team.
• Establish robust financial processes and automation initiatives.
• Promote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and compliance.

Required Qualifications

• Chartered Accountant (CA) mandatory.
• 5-7 years of post-qualification experience.
• Prior experience in a SaaS, technology, IT services, or startup environment is preferred.
• Experience with ERP systems (ZOHO)
• Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills.
• Working knowledge of BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker and AI automation.
