Job summary

ResponsibleUs is seeking an Executive-level Principal Engineer to lead electrical design for BESS and renewable energy projects in FEED, detailed design and technical assurance stages. The role involves developing 11kV-400kV grid connection solutions and supporting control and metering systems for global projects.

Qualifications

• B.Tech/Master’s degree in an engineering discipline is required.

• Knowledge of renewable energy, battery storage, MV/HV grid connections, metering, protection and control systems.

Job Description

The Principal Engineer will lead electrical design for BESS and renewable energy projects across FEED, detailed design and technical assurance stages. Responsibilities include designing BESS balance of plant systems, developing 11kV-400kV grid connection solutions, undertaking feasibility studies and design for planning, and supporting associated control and metering systems. The role involves working with multidisciplinary teams, clients and global project teams, primarily supporting renewable energy projects in the UK and Ireland as well as other international markets. Candidates should have experience with consultancy, contractors, equipment manufacturers or electrical utilities in the energy sector, with knowledge of renewable generation, battery storage technologies, MV/HV grid connections, metering, protection and control systems. Familiarity with G99, G100 and grid-code requirements is valuable. A B.Tech/Master's degree in an appropriate engineering discipline is required, along with experience in multi-disciplinary engineering projects, project management, design and site construction review. Knowledge of tools such as HOMER, AutoCAD, ETAP, DigSILENT, CYMCAP and related engineering software is advantageous.
