Job summary

Shavish Group is seeking a Head of Manufacturing Engineering for its Pune/Ranjangaon location. The candidate will oversee end-to-end capex projects, assembly and machining lines, and drive lean and automation initiatives across the plant.

Required qualifications include BE/BTech in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering with extensive post-qualification experience. Certification in Six Sigma and Project Management are advantageous to lead cost optimizations and digitisation efforts.

Qualifications

• BE/BTech in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering.
• Minimum 18 years of post-qualification experience in a similar industry.
• Six Sigma Black Belt and Project Management certifications are advantageous.
• LEAN & TPM knowledge adds value.
• Exposure to capex projects, plant layout planning and material handling.

Responsibilities

• Assess cost effectiveness and feasibility of manufacturing processes; identify & implement opportunities to reduce costs and improve efficiency & productivity.
• Develop capability for insourcing the manufacturing process and make vs. buy decisions.
• Lead new projects related to Assembly & Machining production lines setup; Capex/Purchasing with cost, time & resource utilization in focus.
• Drive Lean manufacturing, automation projects and maintenance of plant facilities.
• Lead the digitisation program and explore Industry 4.0 feasibility across manufacturing stages.
• Ensure compliance to SOPs and guidelines; maintain readiness for audits.

Job description

We have an opportunity for Head- Manufacturing Engineering - Pune Ranjangaon Location.

Position - Head- Manufacturing Engineering

Major Accountabilities:

• Assess cost effectiveness and feasibility of manufacturing processes;

identify & implement opportunities to reduce costs and improve

efficiency & productivity.

• Develop capability for insourcing the manufacturing process according to

the need of the business and make vs. buy decisions.

• Industrial Engineering - Layout Planning, cycle time study and

Management of Change, Special material handling projects, Work

Measurement, plant layouts, Man machine utilization.

• Lead new projects related to Assembly & Machining production line

setup / Capital/Capex Purchase with respect to cost, time & resource

utilization with Right First-Time approach.

• Preparing RFQ & Technical feasibility, Commercial comparison of

proposals, scope of study, negotiations, DAP, validation at supplier

site, Installation & commissioning & Handover of equipment to

production Line.

• Drive Lean manufacturing, automation projects and maintenance of

the plant facilities.

• Lead the digitisation program, exploring the feasibility to encompass

Industry 4.0 at different stages of the manufacturing process.

• Ensuring compliance to set procedures, SOPs & guidelines in the

manufacturing process and ensuring that plant is always ready for

any kind of internal/external audits

Qualification

• BE/BTech- Mechanical Engineering/ Industrial Engineering with

minimum 18 Years of post qualification experience in similar Industry

• Certifications such as Six Sigma Black Belt, Project Management,

LEAN & TPM will be an added advantage.

Nature of Experience

• Experience in end-to-end execution of capex projects, Setting Up

Assembly, Machining Production lines and material handling for

better space utilisation and create space for potential new business.

• Experience in Tools management including planning, purchasing,

negotiations, regrinding, setting, storage.

• knowledgeable on various manufacturing process like Sand Castings,

Investment castings, GDC, PDC, forgings and machining process with

related cost control measures.
