Job Brief
We are seeking an experienced Head – Manufacturing to lead our Manufacturing Engineering function. The successful candidate will play a critical role in translating engineering designs and specifications into efficient, scalable, and high-quality manufacturing processes. Working closely with leadership and cross-functional teams, the incumbent will ensure products are manufactured in accordance with build-to-print documentation while driving process optimization, quality excellence, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- 1. Engineering Leadership
- Lead the Manufacturing Engineering function and provide strategic direction to the engineering team.
- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and build-to-print documentation with a strong emphasis on GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
- Define part geometry and tolerances to ensure manufacturability and product quality.
- 2. Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of manufacturing engineers and technicians.
- Provide technical guidance, coaching, and opportunities for professional growth.
- Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- 3. Manufacturing & Machining Excellence
- Leverage deep expertise in machining processes, including:
- Milling
- Turning
- Grinding
- EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining)
- Drive process optimization and manufacturing innovation.
- 4. CNC & Tooling Collaboration
- Work closely with CNC programmers and machinists to develop efficient machining strategies.
- Optimize tooling, fixtures, cutting parameters, and manufacturing methods to improve productivity and quality.
- 5. Design & CAD/CAM Leadership
- Oversee the development of 3D models and CAD/CAM designs for tooling, fixtures, and manufactured components.
- Ensure engineering designs align with production and project requirements.
- 6. Special Process Management
- Supervise and optimize special manufacturing processes, including:
- Welding
- Heat Treatment
- Surface Finishing
- Additive Manufacturing
- Ensure compliance with quality and process standards.
- 7. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and other cross-functional teams to ensure timely project execution and successful product delivery.
- 8. Quality & Continuous Improvement
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for manufacturing and quality issues.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Drive Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational performance.
- 9. Technical Support
- Provide technical guidance to fabrication and production teams.
- Support process improvements to achieve higher productivity, quality, and cost efficiency.
- 10. Manufacturing Process Expertise
- Maintain strong knowledge of fabrication and machining techniques, including:
- Cutting
- Bending
- Welding
- Assembly
- Ensure best manufacturing practices are followed.
- 11. Operational Excellence
- Lead initiatives focused on improving:

- Efficiency

- Manufacturing throughput

- Identify opportunities for:

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Master's degree is preferred.
Experience
- 15–20+ years of progressive experience in Manufacturing Engineering within a Build-to-Print manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience leading Manufacturing Engineering teams in a precision engineering or high-complexity manufacturing setup.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong expertise in Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) with the ability to interpret and apply GD&T principles accurately.
- Ability to clearly define and communicate geometric tolerances and specifications through engineering drawings.
- Extensive knowledge of engineering drawings, blueprints, and build-to-print documentation.
- Hands-on experience with CNC machining, milling, turning, grinding, EDM, and fabrication processes.
- Strong knowledge of CAD/CAM systems and manufacturing tooling design.
- Experience with welding, heat treatment, surface finishing, and other special manufacturing processes.
- Thorough understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Strong project management and cross-functional collaboration capabilities.
- Ability to drive operational excellence, quality improvements, and manufacturing innovation.
