Job summary

The Corporate Institute is seeking a Head of Finance to build a scalable finance function from the ground up in Mumbai. This is a hands‑on role working closely with the founders to establish robust financial processes, drive discipline and support strategic decisions.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified CA with 8–12 years of post‑qualification experience, preferably from a D2C, FMCG or consumer products company, and strong FP&A, accounting, taxation and commercial finance exposure.

Qualifications

• Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) is mandatory.
• 8–12 years of post‑qualification experience.
• Experience in a D2C food, FMCG or consumer products company is essential.
• Strong exposure to business finance, FP&A, accounting, taxation and commercial finance.
• Experience in a high‑growth or founder‑led organisation is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end finance function including accounting, taxation, compliance and financial reporting.
• Own budgeting, forecasting, financial planning and cash flow management.
• Build robust MIS and dashboards to support strategic decision‑making.
• Develop financial controls, SOPs and governance frameworks as the business scales.
• Partner with founders on pricing, profitability and business planning.
• Collaborate with operations, supply chain, procurement and sales to improve margins and working capital.
• Manage audits, statutory compliance, banking relationships and treasury.
• Support fundraising, investor reporting and due diligence when required.
• Build, mentor and scale the finance team over time.
