About the Role:

We are looking for a Business Finance Manager / Senior Manager who can work closely with the business and leadership team to drive financial performance, improve profitability, and enable better decision-making. This role goes beyond reporting numbers, you will be expected to understand the business, identify opportunities and risks, challenge assumptions, and translate data into actionable insights across revenue, margins, marketing, inventory, channels, and operating costs.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Business Finance & Business Partnering

• Partner closely with founders and business leaders across Marketing, Sales, Operations, Supply Chain and Category to drive financial performance.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to support key business decisions.
• Evaluate business initiatives, investments, new launches, pricing decisions and growth opportunities from a financial perspective.
• Act as a finance partner to business teams, challenging assumptions and ensuring financial discipline.

2. Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting

• Own the annual budgeting, business planning and forecasting process.
• Prepare monthly/quarterly forecasts and track performance against budgets and business plans.
• Develop financial models and scenario analyses for key business decisions.
• Identify deviations from plan and work with stakeholders to develop corrective actions.

3. P&L & Profitability Management

• Own/drive detailed P&L analysis across business lines, products and channels.
• Track and improve key metrics such as gross margin, contribution margin, EBITDA, CAC, ROAS, AOV, COGS and fulfilment costs.
• Identify profitability levers and work with business teams to improve contribution margins.
• Conduct product/SKU-level profitability analysis and highlight areas requiring intervention.

4. Channel & Commercial Finance

• Analyse performance across D2C, marketplaces, offline/modern trade and other channels.
• Evaluate channel profitability, pricing, discounts, commissions, logistics and promotional spends.
• Support pricing and promotion decisions through robust financial analysis.
• Develop channel-wise performance dashboards and business reviews.

5. MIS & Management Reporting

• Own and enhance monthly MIS and management reporting for leadership.
• Develop dashboards covering revenue, margins, costs, working capital and profitability.
• Convert complex financial data into clear business insights and actionable recommendations.
• Present key financial insights and business performance to senior leadership.

6. Cost & Working Capital Management

• Identify opportunities for cost optimisation and operational efficiencies.
• Monitor inventory, receivables, payables and working capital metrics.
• Partner with Operations and Supply Chain to improve inventory turns, ageing and working capital efficiency.
• Track major operating expenses and ensure adherence to approved budgets.

7. Business Performance & Strategic Projects

• Support leadership on strategic projects, including new category/product launches, market expansion, channel expansion and business restructuring.
• Build financial models for new business opportunities and investments.
• Conduct ROI analysis for marketing campaigns, new initiatives and business investments.
• Lead finance-driven projects aimed at improving growth and profitability.

What Were Looking For:

• Min 3 to 5 years of experience in Business Finance, FP&A, Commercial Finance, Corporate Finance or related roles.
• Experience in a D2C, FMCG, Consumer, Retail or high-growth business will be strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of P&L, unit economics, financial modelling, budgeting and forecasting.
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to understand business drivers beyond financial statements.
• Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills; experience with Power BI or other BI tools is preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
• CA / CFA / MBA Finance or equivalent qualification preferred.
