Job summary

HCLTech in Noida invites an experienced QA engineer to lead testing for a product-support environment. You will design, document and execute test plans, and drive automation where possible to improve quality.

You should have 5+ years in QA, be proficient with JIRA, API testing (Postman), and have knowledge of Mobile Device Management for iOS and Android. You will manage test labs and report defects clearly in Jira.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Quality Assurance, preferably in product support or post-release teams.
• Must have used JIRA.
• Strong communication skills.
• Nice to have MDM domain knowledge.
• Understanding of Mobile Device Management concepts: enrollment, policy, deployment.
• Experience testing iOS and Android platforms for device management.
• Technical QA skills: API testing with Postman.
• QA fundamentals and SDLC understanding.
• Detail-oriented with documentation discipline.
• Flexible to work in shifts.

Responsibilities

• Development Testing: design, document, and execute test plans with automation.
• Bug replication & verification: reproduce complex issues in a controlled env.
• Assist L1 team with solutions and documentation.
• Root Cause Analysis with L3 to isolate defect sources.
• Test Planning & Execution for fixes and hotfixes.
• Regression Testing to ensure no new issues.
• Test Environment Management for mobile devices and configs.
• Defect Management: write clear Jira bug reports with details.

Key Responsibilities

• \u003Cb\u003EDevelopment Testing:\u003C/b\u003E Design, document, and execute test plans for features with automation in picture.


• \u003Cb\u003EBug Replication & Verification:\u003C/b\u003E Replicate complex production issues reported by customers, often with incomplete information, within a controlled test environment.


• Help the L1 team to explain the solution for the issues and share documentations.


• \u003Cb\u003ERoot Cause Analysis:\u003C/b\u003E Collaborate with L3 Support Engineers to perform deep-dive analysis and isolate the source of defects across our product..


• \u003Cb\u003ETest Planning & Execution:\u003C/b\u003E Design, document, and execute targeted test plans for bug fixes and hotfixes, ensuring comprehensive coverage of the reported issue.


• \u003Cb\u003ERegression Testing:\u003C/b\u003E Conduct thorough regression testing to certify that a fix has not introduced new problems into the platform.


• \u003Cb\u003ETest Environment Management:\u003C/b\u003E Own and maintain the support team's test lab, which includes a variety of mobile devices, operating systems (iOS,Android, Windows, Chrome), and customer-like configurations.


• \u003Cb\u003EDefect Management:\u003C/b\u003E Write clear, concise, and detailed bug reports in Jira, providing engineers with all the necessary information to resolve issues efficiently.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• \u003Cb\u003EExperience:\u003C/b\u003E 5+ years of hands-on experience in a Quality Assurance role, preferably within a product support, sustaining, or post-release team.

• Proven experience testing on both \u003Cb\u003EiOS and Android\u003C/b\u003E platforms from a device management perspective.


• \u003Cb\u003ETechnical QA Skills:\u003C/b\u003E


• Experience testing single-page applications (SPAs) built with modern frameworks (\u003Cb\u003EReact\u003C/b\u003E preferred).


• Proficiency in \u003Cb\u003EAPI testing\u003C/b\u003E using tools like Postman etc.


• Demonstrated ability to read and interpret application logs to assist in troubleshooting.


• \u003Cb\u003EQA Fundamentals:\u003C/b\u003E


• Expertise in QA methodologies and the software development lifecycle.


• A meticulous, detail-oriented approach to testing and documentation.


• Flexible to work in shifts.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with QA test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright) for building regression suites.


• Good to have experience testing a commercial MDM, UEM.


• Familiarity with querying databases (SQL or NoSQL).


• Basic understanding of Node.js to better collaborate with the engineering team.
