Job summary

HCLSoftware is seeking an experienced QA specialist in India to join a product support team. The role involves designing comprehensive test plans, executing tests across iOS, Android, and web platforms, and coordinating bug reports and root-cause analysis with cross-functional teams.

The ideal candidate has strong experience with JIRA, API testing, and modern testing frameworks, plus a meticulous approach to documentation in a fast-paced, shift-based environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on QA experience in a product support, sustaining, or post-release team.
• Must have used JIRA.
• MDM knowledge including device enrollment, policy management, and application deployment.
• Experience testing on iOS and Android platforms from a device-management perspective.
• Experience testing single-page applications (SPAs) built with modern frameworks (React preferred).
• Proficiency in API testing using tools like Postman.
• Ability to read and interpret application logs to assist in troubleshooting.
• Expertise in QA methodologies and the software development lifecycle.
• Meticulous, detail-oriented approach to testing and documentation.
• Flexible to work in shifts.

Responsibilities

• Design, document, and execute test plans for features with automation in picture.
• Replicate complex production issues reported by customers in a controlled test environment.
• Help the L1 team explain solutions and share documentation.
• Collaborate with L3 Support Engineers for deep-dive analysis and root-cause isolation.
• Design, document, and execute targeted test plans for bug fixes and hotfixes.
• Conduct thorough regression testing to ensure fixes do not introduce new problems.
• Own and maintain the test lab with mobile devices and varied OS configurations.
• Write clear, concise bug reports in Jira with all necessary information.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Development Testing: Design, document, and execute test plans for features with automation in picture.
• Bug Replication & Verification: Replicate complex production issues reported by customers, often with incomplete information, within a controlled test environment.
• Help the L1 team to explain the solution for the issues and share documentations.
• Root Cause Analysis: Collaborate with L3 Support Engineers to perform deep-dive analysis and isolate the source of defects across our product..
• Test Planning & Execution: Design, document, and execute targeted test plans for bug fixes and hotfixes, ensuring comprehensive coverage of the reported issue.
• Regression Testing: Conduct thorough regression testing to certify that a fix has not introduced new problems into the platform.
• Test Environment Management: Own and maintain the support team's test lab, which includes a variety of mobile devices, operating systems (iOS,Android, Windows, Chrome), and customer-like configurations.
• Defect Management: Write clear, concise, and detailed bug reports in Jira, providing engineers with all the necessary information to resolve issues efficiently.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Experience: 5+ years of hands‑on experience in a Quality Assurance role, preferably within a product support, sustaining, or post‑release team.
• Must have used JIRA
• Nice to have - MDM Domain Knowledge:
• A strong understanding of Mobile Device Management (MDM) concepts, including device enrollment, policy management, and application deployment.
• Proven experience testing on both iOS and Android platforms from a device management perspective.
• Technical QA Skills:
• Experience testing single‑page applications (SPAs) built with modern frameworks (React preferred).
• Proficiency in API testing using tools like Postman etc.
• Demonstrated ability to read and interpret application logs to assist in troubleshooting.
• Expertise in QA methodologies and the software development lifecycle.
• A meticulous, detail‑oriented approach to testing and documentation.
• Flexible to work in shifts.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with QA test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright) for building regression suites.
• Good to have experience testing a commercial MDM, UEM.
• Familiarity with querying databases (SQL or NoSQL).
• Basic understanding of Node.js to better collaborate with the engineering team.
