Job Description
HCL Technologies is seeking a detail-oriented and quality-focused QA Engineer to join our Quality Assurance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, performance, and functionality of software applications through comprehensive testing processes. The candidate should have experience in manual testing, automation testing, defect management, and software quality assurance methodologies.
As a QA Engineer, you will work closely with developers, business analysts, project managers, and product owners to identify defects, validate business requirements, and ensure software products meet quality standards before deployment. You will play a critical role in maintaining customer satisfaction by delivering high-quality software solutions.
The position requires excellent analytical skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in Agile development environments.
Key Responsibilities
Software Testing
- Analyze business requirements, functional specifications, and technical documents.
- Design and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scenarios.
- Perform manual testing of web, desktop, mobile, and enterprise applications.
- Validate application functionality against business requirements.
- Conduct regression, integration, system, smoke, and sanity testing.
- Verify bug fixes and perform re-testing activities.
- Ensure software quality throughout the development lifecycle.
Automation Testing
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts.
- Execute automation test suites and analyze results.
- Improve test coverage through automation frameworks.
- Maintain reusable automation components and libraries.
- Collaborate with developers to implement automated testing strategies.
Defect Management
- Identify, document, track, and report software defects.
- Work closely with development teams to reproduce issues.
- Verify defect fixes and ensure closure of reported bugs.
- Participate in defect review meetings.
- Maintain defect metrics and reporting dashboards.
Performance & Security Testing
- Conduct performance and load testing activities.
- Validate system responsiveness under varying workloads.
- Identify bottlenecks and performance issues.
- Support security testing and vulnerability assessments.
Documentation & Reporting
- Create detailed test reports and quality metrics.
- Maintain testing documentation and traceability matrices.
- Provide regular status updates to stakeholders.
