Job summary

Tata Elxsi is seeking a high-level hardware design engineer for end-to-end HW development, including architecture, circuit design, and FPGA-based implementations. The role emphasises collaboration across mechanical, EMS, and EMI/EMC teams to ensure robust board bring-up and qualification.

Candidates should have 7–10 years of HW design experience, with desirable exposure to product reliability and rail/avionics domains. Strong schematics, simulations, and thermal analysis skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the PCB assembly activities with the EMS vendor.
• Develop board bring-up strategy and plan.
• Perform the detailed HW characterization tests.
• Work with EMI/EMC team for Qualification tests.

Job description

JD for HW - SME

Shall be responsible for the following activities:

• Requirement analysis and HW architecture development
• Design and simulation of Digital and Analog circuits
• Experience in FPGA based Designs
• Provide PCB routing guidelines to PCB design engineer
• Collaborate with mechanical design team for defining the PCB concept
• Co-ordinate the PCB assembly activities with the EMS vendor
• Develop board bring-up strategy and plan
• Perform the detailed HW characterization tests
• Work along with EMI/EMC team for the various Qualification tests

Experience:

• 7 to10 years of HW design and development experience
• Experience in product reliability process will desirable
• Rail product development experience will be an added advantage

Skillset:

• Design of digital, analog and mixed signal circuits
• Worst case circuit analysis and simulation expertise
• SI and PI analysis expertise
• Debugging & hardware testing skills
• Knowledge on thermal analysis and heat sink design
• Sound knowledge in design for EMI/EMC
• Experience in FMEA, FTA, MTBF, safety analysis will be an added advantage
• Rail/Automotive/Avionics domain experience is desirable
