JOB DESCRIPTION : CENTRE MANAGER,
STEPS CENTER FOR MENTAL HEALTH
Brief Job Summary
In accordance with the needs of the ages of the population served by STEPS Centre for Mental Health, the Centre Manager is responsible for daily operations of the centre. The Manager will work cooperatively and closely with the Medical Director and Managing Director, to accomplish the goals set for the clinic. Critical features of this position are described under the headings below, but are subject to change at the discretion of SCFMH and its management. This job description reflects the designation of essential job functions but does not provide an all-inclusive list of duties that may be assigned.
Principle Responsibilities and Duties
- Maintain close and cooperative working relationships with the Medical Director and Managing Director to ensure effective daily operations.
Responsible for administration in the clinic. Responsibilities include the following
- New client set up
- Client scheduling and coordination
- Client interaction, dealing with escalations and follow ups, coordinating for prescriptions, reports etc for clients
- Overseeing invoicing and billing for all clients
- Driving adherence to internal client processes including assessments, follow ups and compliance
- Looking at overall upkeep and maintenance of the centre. Including coordinating with vendors for day to day management issues.
- Managing internal support processes including HR, Recruitment and Compliance.
- Focus on creating systems and processes that will allow the clinic to expand in scale and grow over a period of time.
- Support the introduction and execution of new programs and services.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to perceive the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction.
- Must be able to receive detailed information through oral communication and to make the discriminations in sound.
- Must have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned.
- Must be able to sit at a computer terminal for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to travel to and from different locations and sites.
- Must have manual dexterity sufficient to perform various keyboard functions.
- Must have physically present at the assigned job site.
Education
- BA/BS in business, finance, accounting, management, or life science preferred.
Experience
- Experience in servicing domestic and/or international clients
- Experience in working with systems and technology
- Experience in working in a team with demonstrated leadership skills
Related Training
- Must be proficient with computers and with several computer program applications.
- The ability to work with spreadsheets at an advanced level is required.
- Must be proficient in the use of Excel, WordPerfect, Word, and PowerPoint, and Google suite application software.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Must be able to plan, implement, and update management related system tools.
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be able to problem solve with a sense of personal accountability. Have the ability to take ownership of customer / client issues/ roadblocks and solve their problems.
- Must be able to organize and manage time and manage multiple tasks.
- Must maintain adequate personal grooming consistent with professional appearance.
- Knowledge of normal/abnormal growth and development throughout the age continuum (training will be provided).
- Ability to provide, assess, interpret, and communicate age-specific data *(in response to treatment protocols - training will be provided)
- Ability to develop and maintain effective communications and working relationships with other employees, patients, and their families as well as the general public, across all age groups, including but not limited to paediatric, adolescent, and adult populations.
- Ability to demonstrate professional behaviour by adhering to departmental and organisational policies and procedures, and assuming authority appropriately.
- Must be able to accept constructive feedback and professional criticism from supervisors and adjust performance and behaviour as recommended.
