Job summary

Vodafone Idea Limited in Delhi seeks a Central Zonal Technical Manager (M3/GM) to supervise BTS/MW/BSC/RNC site field operations. You will plan maintenance, coordinate with infra partners, and drive RF modernization across the zonal footprint.

Candidates should have 12–15 years in telecom, a B.Tech in Electronics & Communications, and hands-on experience with NSN/Huawei equipment, 2G/4G/5G networks, and O&M processes. Excellent leadership and budget management are essential.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure high cell availability.

• Manage outages, alarms, and Opex within budget targets.
• Coordinate with infra partners and vendors for site upkeep.

Job Purpose

Supervising of Managing cell site - BTS/MW/BSC/RNC site field level operational activities

Key Result Areas/Accountabilities

• Plan and supervise Preventive and Corrective maintenance to improve percentage of best cells above >99%. RNA > 99.80%
• To supervise cell site/BSC/RNC wise field level operational activities in strict compliance with the VIL operations' process and managing with the tools prescribed.
• To acknowledge all WFM alarms within prescribed time of onset and to complete resolution within 3 days.
• To supervise and maintain the site level Opex and make control on same as per the budget.
• To administer transmission media details to rectify any call drop/disturbance. All Txn KPI should show progressive improvement.
• To Run transmission planning modernization as per the AOP
• Drive on- time Preventive Maintenance and Outage handling process
• Bearing clear understanding of SNOC process and abiding them. Driving each activity under the oversight and evaluating their success
• Management of co-ordination with infra partners on maintaining the upkeep of the infra equipment so as to ensure the conservation of active equipment
• Plan/Complete yearly roll out target by March 31 of year by Integration & Commissioning of all sites in operational domain
• 100% compliance of Asset Management of all assets installed
• Completing and Driving acceptance test configuration and commissioning of new base station sites and backhaul
• Network complaint management by resolution of faults at sites.
• Drive the zonal specified RF modernization with hands-on zero traffic cells, software upgrade for joint spectrum, swap for modernization and quality assurance
• Drive toggling and zero traffic cell to the minimum prescribed levels
• Drive TQM projects with six sigma criterion, bring in new ideas of operations, identifying the training needs and aligning the team to the business acumen of the zone
• Aligning the resource management of the zone during festivals, privilege leaves, with minimum attrition and aligning the personal traits to the zonal rendezvous
• Coordinate with technical support personnel, support vendors and equipment suppliers.
• To ensure all Microwave KPI compliance as per corp guidelines .
• All strategic, HUB & VTH sites should deliver 100% availability & field sites visits to ensure Hygiene.
• Co-ordinate with IP and router team for access port check, utilization, Implementation of corrections related to access ports and New router locations configurations
• Survey for new fibre POP and its coordinate its I&C
• Identification of issues at various points of splitting of ILL and closure of its complaints
• Conducting monthly meeting with Passive Vendors and MOM, following up with issues and identifying the corrections done by IP, Reduction in Opex by XX% Yon Y
• To run the operations of the zone as per the HSW standards prescribed, updating to the monthly meetings, assuring all assets are registered under MSAFE and auditing them. Driving HSW among technology & service partners.
