Job Description General Manager – IT

Location: Delhi NCR

Reporting To: Senior Management

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking IT leader to head the Information Technology function and drive digital transformation across the organisation. The role will be responsible for developing and implementing IT strategies, strengthening technology infrastructure, enhancing customer experience, improving operational efficiency, and aligning technology initiatives with overall business objectives.

The incumbent will lead enterprise-wide IT operations, digital initiatives, infrastructure, cybersecurity, ERP implementation, and technology integration for existing operations and upcoming projects.

Key Responsibilities

1. IT Strategy & Digital Transformation

• Develop and implement the organisation’s IT strategy in alignment with business goals.
• Lead digital transformation initiatives to improve operational efficiency and customer experience.
• Identify and implement emerging technologies, automation, AI-enabled solutions, and digital platforms.
• Establish IT governance, policies, standards, and performance metrics.

2. IT Infrastructure & Operations

• Oversee IT infrastructure, networks, cloud environments, servers, end-user computing, and enterprise applications.
• Ensure seamless IT operations, system availability, business continuity, and disaster recovery.
• Manage IT support services, vendor performance, and service-level agreements.
• Ensure technology readiness across multiple locations and business units.

3. ERP & Enterprise Applications

• Lead ERP implementation, integration, upgrades, and optimisation.
• Manage enterprise applications, CRM, HRMS, finance systems, and other business-critical platforms.
• Drive system integration and process automation to improve productivity and reporting.
• Ensure successful implementation of technology solutions for new projects and business expansions.

4. Cybersecurity & IT Governance

• Establish robust cybersecurity frameworks, data protection measures, and access controls.
• Ensure compliance with applicable IT regulations, data privacy requirements, and internal policies.
• Conduct periodic IT risk assessments, audits, and security reviews.
• Strengthen information security awareness and incident management processes.

5. Project Management & New Initiatives

• Lead end-to-end technology planning and implementation for upcoming projects, including infrastructure design, budgeting, vendor selection, and deployment.
• Develop IT roadmaps, project timelines, resource plans, and implementation milestones.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders, consultants, system integrators, and technology partners.
• Ensure timely delivery of projects within approved budgets and quality standards.

6. Budgeting & Vendor Management

• Develop and manage the annual IT budget, capital expenditure, and operating expenditure.
• Optimise technology investments and ensure measurable returns on IT spending.
• Evaluate and negotiate with technology vendors, service providers, and implementation partners.
• Monitor contracts, service delivery, costs, and vendor performance.

7. Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management

• Lead, mentor, and develop the IT team while building a performance-driven culture.
• Collaborate with business heads and functional leaders to identify technology requirements.
• Present IT strategies, project updates, risks, and performance metrics to senior management.
• Drive cross-functional collaboration and continuous improvement.

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline. A postgraduate qualification or relevant professional certifications would be an advantage.
• 15+ years of overall IT experience, with substantial experience in IT leadership and enterprise technology management.
• Proven experience independently leading the complete IT function.
• Strong track record in ERP implementation, digital transformation, infrastructure management, and enterprise application integration.
• Experience in setting up IT functions, implementing technology solutions from scratch, and managing greenfield projects.
• Demonstrated capability in managing large IT teams, multi-location operations, and significant IT budgets.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity, IT governance, business continuity, and technology risk management.
• Excellent stakeholder management, strategic planning, vendor management, and team leadership skills.
