Job summary

Controvia AI in India seeks a seasoned finance leader to head core finance operations, strengthen controls, and drive AI-led automation in audit and processes. The role requires 12–15 years in finance with 3–4 years in leadership, CA/ICWA preferred with MBA in Finance as an added advantage.

You will oversee budgeting, statutory compliance and internal controls, while guiding a team to deliver strategic financial insights and robust governance across the organization.

Qualifications

• CA/ICWA with MBA in Finance preferred; strong accounting knowledge.
• 12–15 years in finance with at least 3–4 years in leadership.
• Hands-on with ERP and process automation in finance.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day finance operations: accounting, MIS, month-end and year-end closing.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis with business teams.
• Ensure compliance with Ind AS, Companies Act, GST, TDS and other statutes.
• Oversee internal controls, policy adherence and expense governance.
• Drive automation of finance processes focusing on fraud detection in T&E claims.
• Manage cash flow, working capital, banking and vendor payments.
• Coordinate with auditors and close audit observations timely.
• Prepare financial reports and insights for senior management.
• Lead, mentor and develop the finance team.

About the Opportunity

We are hiring on behalf of a client of Controvia AI, an AI-powered expense audit platform that helps Indian enterprises automate the review of employee claims and prevent fraud and policy violations before reimbursement. Our client is looking for an accomplished finance professional to lead core finance operations, strengthen controls and support the adoption of AI-led audit and automation tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day finance operations: accounting, MIS, month-end and year-end closing
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis in partnership with business teams
• Ensure compliance with Ind AS, Companies Act, GST, TDS and other statutory requirements
• Oversee internal controls, policy adherence and expense and reimbursement governance
• Drive automation of finance processes, with focus on fraud prevention and duplicate and policy-violation detection in T&E claims
• Manage cash flow, working capital, banking and vendor payment processes
• Coordinate with statutory, internal and tax auditors and ensure timely closure of audit observations
• Prepare financial reports and insights for senior management
• Lead, mentor and develop the finance team

Candidate Profile

• Qualification: CA / ICWA (preferred); MBA (Finance) is an added advantage
• Experience: 12-15 years in finance, with at least 3-4 years in a managerial or leadership role
• Strong knowledge of Indian accounting, taxation and regulatory compliance
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems and process automation or finance transformation
• Exposure to internal audit, controls and fraud-risk management
• Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills
