Job summary

FuelBuddy Future Energy Private Limited is seeking a Financial Controller to own the integrity of our books, systems, controls and compliance in a fast-growing, high-transaction business based in Gurugram.

You will build scalable finance processes, drive automation with the tech team, run internal audits, and ensure statutory compliance across GST, TDS, income tax, ROC, RBI, and other payments; lead budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management; oversee AP/AR and the finance team.

Qualifications

• Chartered Accountant with 10–15 years of post-qualification experience.
• Experience in controllership, DoA, and month-end close processes.
• Hands-on with RCM/IFC and SOX-like controls.
• Experience in internal audits, preferably with outsourced firms.
• Strong knowledge of Ind AS, GST, TDS, and tax compliance.

Responsibilities

• Design and roll out finance SOPs, DoA matrix and month-end calendar.
• Own ERP: master data, COA, user access and config.
• Build finance automation roadmap with reconciliations, invoicing and MIS.
• Develop real-time dashboards for revenue, margins, receivables and cash.
• Maintain RCM and IFC framework, including tests of design/effectiveness.
• Implement fraud controls: segregation of duties and payment controls.
• Prepare internal audit plan and track observations to closure.
• Own GST, TDS/TCS, income tax, ROC/MCA, RBI/FEMA and other payments.
• Prepare financial statements (Ind AS/Indian GAAP) and lead audits.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash flow and working capital management.
• Oversee AP/AR, invoicing, credit control and collections.
• Lead and develop the finance and accounts team.

About the role

FuelBuddy Future Energy Private Limited is looking for a Financial Controller to own the integrity of our books, systems, controls and compliance in a fast-growing, high-transaction business. You will build scalable finance systems and processes, drive automation with the technology team, run the internal audit program, and ensure zero-default statutory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Design and roll out finance SOPs, the Delegation of Authority (DoA) matrix and a fixed month-end close calendar
• Own the ERP: master data, chart of accounts, user access and system configuration
• Build and execute a finance automation roadmap (reconciliations, invoicing, collections, MIS) and integrate the ERP with operations and billing platforms
• Develop real-time dashboards for revenue, margins, receivables, cash and costs
• Build and maintain the Risk Control Matrix (RCM) and Internal Financial Controls (IFC) framework, including Test of Design and Test of Operating Effectiveness
• Implement fraud-risk controls: segregation of duties, vendor/customer master and payment controls
• Prepare the risk-based annual internal audit plan and track observations to closure
• Own the statutory compliance calendar: GST, TDS/TCS, income tax, ROC/MCA, FEMA/RBI, PF, ESI and other statutory payments
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements (Ind AS / Indian GAAP) and lead statutory and tax audits
• Run budgeting, forecasting, cash flow and working capital management
• Oversee AP/AR, invoicing, credit control and collections
• Lead, mentor and develop the finance and accounts team

Desired candidate profile

• Chartered Accountant with 1015 years of post-qualification experience, including at least 3–4 years in a controllership role
• Hands-on experience designing and testing RCM and IFC or SOX controls
• Experience planning and managing internal audits, including outsourced audit firms
• Strong knowledge of Ind AS, GST, TDS, Income Tax, Companies Act and ROC compliance
• Experience implementing or managing ERP systems (SAP, Oracle NetSuite, MS Dynamics / Navision, Tally Prime)
• Track record of driving finance automation and working with technology/product teams
• Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills
• Experience leading and developing a finance team

Good to have

• Startup or high-growth company experience, ideally in B2B, logistics, energy or e-commerce
• Big 4 or reputed CA firm background in audit or risk advisory
• Exposure to Power BI / Tableau, RPA or low-code automation tools
• Experience with investor reporting, fundraising or due diligence

Work schedule:

6 days a week. 5 days work from office (Gurugram), Saturdays work from home
