Job summary

Suryadev Alloys And Power is seeking a Senior Chartered Accountant to lead Finance, Accounting, Costing, and Compliance for its manufacturing plant in Tamil Nadu. The role encompasses statutory compliance, financial controls, and costing while driving plant-level profitability and reporting.

The candidate should have CA qualification with strong manufacturing finance experience, GST and tax compliance expertise, and exposure to SAP S4 HANA FICO.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day finance and accounting operations for the plant.
• Ensure timely financial closing and reporting (P&L, BS, Cash Flow).
• Develop and maintain internal controls across procurement, stores, production, and payroll.
• Coordinate with auditors, statutory authorities and external consultants.
• Develop a Plant Finance MIS dashboard covering revenue, EBITDA, working capital, and cash flow.

Job description

1. Role Purpose

The Senior Chartered Accountant will lead the Finance, Accounting, Costing, Commercial Finance, Statutory Compliance and Financial Control functions of the manufacturing plant.

The position requires strong understanding of steel manufacturing economics, raw-material consumption, yield, conversion costs, power and fuel consumption, inventory, production losses, scrap, by-products, dispatches and product-wise profitability.

Key Focus Area

1. Plant Finance & Accounting

• Lead day-to-day finance and accounting operations of the plant.
• Ensure accurate and timely recording of plant transactions.
• Review monthly, quarterly and annual financial closing.
• Prepare plant-level Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow statements.
• Ensure proper accounting of production, consumption, inventory, scrap, wastage and by-products.
• Establish appropriate accounting controls for manufacturing operations.
• Coordinate with corporate finance for consolidation and reporting.
• Ensure timely reconciliation of:
  • General Ledger
  • Sub-ledgers
  • Bank accounts
  • Vendor accounts
  • Customer accounts
  • Inventory
  • Advances
  • Inter-unit transactions.

2. Statutory & Tax Compliance

Ensure timely and accurate compliance relating to applicable:

• GST
• Income Tax
• TDS
• Advance Tax
• Transfer Pricing, where applicable
• Companies Act requirements
• Customs/import-related matters
• Labour-related financial compliances
• State-specific statutory requirements.

Coordinate with external consultants, auditors and statutory authorities.

3. Internal Controls, Audit & Risk Management

Develop and strengthen internal financial controls covering:

• Procurement
• Stores
• Production
• Sales
• Dispatch
• Payments
• Receivables
• Inventory
• CAPEX
• Payroll
• Fixed assets.

Coordinate with:

• Statutory Auditors
• Internal Auditors
• Cost Auditors
• Tax Auditors
• Secretarial/Compliance teams
• Banks and financial institutions.

Ensure timely closure of audit observations and implementation of corrective actions.

4. Management Information System MIS

Develop a comprehensive Plant Finance MIS Dashboard covering:

Financial

• Revenue
• EBITDA
• EBITDA/MT
• PBT
• Cash flow
• Working capital

Preferred candidate profile

Qualifications

Essential

• Chartered Accountant (CA) ICAI
• Strong experience in manufacturing finance and accounts.
• Strong understanding of costing and financial controls.
• Excellent knowledge of GST, Income Tax, Companies Act and applicable statutory requirements.

Preferred

• CA with 1015+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience in Iron & Steel, Metals, Foundry, Engineering, Cement, Mining or other process/manufacturing industries.
• Experience in plant/factory finance.
• Experience in SAP S4 HANA FICO implementation or practice
• Experience in large-scale manufacturing environments.
