Job Description:

1. Financial Strategy & Planning:

• Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with organizational goals.
• Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
• Provide strategic financial insights to senior leadership, Financial Accounting & reporting, and Taxation & Compliance, Audit & Internal Controls, Cost Control & performance monitoring.

2. Financial Accounting & Reporting:

• Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements.
• Oversee general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and closing processes.
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards (Ind AS / IFRS / GAAP).

3. Taxation & Compliance:

• Manage direct and indirect taxation (Income Tax, GST, etc.).
• Ensure timely statutory filings and adherence to regulatory requirements.
• Liaise with auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory bodies.

4. Audit & Internal Controls:

• Lead internal and external audit processes.
• Establish and strengthen internal control systems.
• Ensure compliance with corporate governance standards.

5. Cost Control & Performance Monitoring:

• Drive cost optimization initiatives across departments.
• Monitor financial performance against budgets and KPIs.
• Provide variance analysis and actionable recommendations.

6. Team Leadership:

• Lead, mentor, and develop the finance & accounts team.
• Build a high-performance culture within the department.
• Ensure continuous skill development and succession planning.
• Support Business for formulating general business strategy from the legal perspective.
• Provide regular updates to Directors in terms of legal proceedings & further action points.
• Update management and key executives with important developments, generally concerning the laws.
• Develop and maintain sustainable relations with solicitors & Sr. Counsels of relevant High Court, Tribunals & Honble Supreme Court of India, legal consultants and network of Corporate Lawyers.
• Co-ordinate with advocates-on-record, counsel and senior counsel.
• Advice management on issues, and where necessary, obtain expert opinions from external sources.
• Represent the company in various legal proceedings and coordinate with legal consultants on behalf of the company.
• Provide review or advice from strategic perspective to ensure business decisions are taken in well informed manner.
• Keep fully informed on all legislation affecting the organization's operations and of all new developments in corporate legal matters, and keep all levels of management informed of applicable new laws and of the progress and results of court cases.
• Develop and mentor a professionally competent team.
• Prepare and control department budget to support systematically planned activities and assure optimum deployment of resources within approved budget.
• Other duties may be assigned from time to time.

Preferred candidate profile:

• Chartered Accountant.
• 15+ years in Finance & Accounts, with at least 5+ years in a leadership role.
• Strong working knowledge and practical experience in Ind AS compliance and reporting.
• Experience in corporate environment.
• Experience from product manufacturing industry, steel industry (most preferred), fertilizer, chemical, automobile, etc.
