Job summary

ECap Equities is seeking a PMS Fund Accountant in Mumbai to manage end-to-end PMS fund accounting, NAV computation, and associated financial reporting. You will handle securities and cash entries, corporate actions, and fee calculations while ensuring accurate reconciliations and regulatory compliance.

The role requires 3–7 years in PMS fund accounting with hands-on NAV expertise, strong Excel skills and coordination with custodians, brokers and auditors.

Qualifications

• 3–7 years of experience in PMS fund accounting.
• Practical NAV computation experience is mandatory.
• Hands-on experience in portfolio accounting and investment operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform end-to-end fund accounting activities for PMS portfolios and compute NAV periodically.
• Record entries for securities, cash, accruals, expenses, income and corporate actions; calculate fees.
• Process corporate actions, redemption calculations and settlement monitoring.
• Reconcile holdings and cash positions; address reconciliation breaks and prepare client portfolio reports.
• Support audits and maintain records for regulatory and statutory requirements.
• Liaise with portfolio managers, custodians, auditors and brokers to ensure smooth operations.
• Assist in preparation of financial statements and understand tax implications including GST.

Qualification

Experience

• 3 to 7 years of relevant experience in PMS Fund Accounting.
• Practical experience in NAV computation is mandatory.
• Hands-on experience in portfolio accounting and investment operations.

Key Responsibilities

Fund Accounting & NAV

• Perform end-to-end fund accounting activities for PMS portfolios.
• Calculate, review, and validate NAV on a periodic basis.
• Record accounting entries for securities, cash, accruals, expenses, income, and corporate actions.
• Calculate management fees, performance fees, and other PMS-related charges.

Investment Operations

• Process and account for corporate actions, ensuring timely recording of benefits.
• Perform redemption calculations.
• Monitor and account for investment transactions and settlements.
• Calculate portfolio and client performance.

Reconciliation & Reporting

• Reconcile securities holdings and cash positions on a regular basis.
• Investigate and resolve reconciliation breaks.
• Prepare and send client portfolio reports and statements.
• Assist in preparation and submission of regulatory reports.

Audit & Compliance

• Support statutory, internal, and regulatory audits.
• Maintain proper records and supporting documentation for audit purposes.
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting and regulatory requirements.

Stakeholder Management

• Handle client queries related to portfolio accounting and reporting.
• Liaise with portfolio managers, custodians, auditors, and internal teams to ensure smooth operations.
• Coordinate with brokers and other service providers regarding settlement and operational matters.

Financials & Taxation

• Assist in preparation of financial statements and schedules.
• Working knowledge of taxation, including Income Tax and GST, will be preferred.
• Understanding of settlement processes and their accounting impact will be an added advantage.

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of PMS Fund Accounting and NAV computation.
• Good understanding of securities accounting and investment operations.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Hands-on experience with Wealth Spectrum will be an added advantage.
