Job summary

Talent Leads HR Solutions Pvt Ltd is seeking a VP for Investment Operations in Mumbai. The ideal candidate will have experience in fund accounting with a focus on NAV calculations, compliance with SEBI regulations, and strong analytical skills. Responsibilities include scheme financial reviews, controlling expenses, and liaising with auditors for smooth operations.

Candidates should possess a Chartered Accountant qualification and demonstrate excellent communication, time management, and teamwork skills. Experience in mutual funds or financial services is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1-4 years of experience in fund accounting or related field.
• Strong knowledge of mutual fund regulations and financial practices.
• Ability to work autonomously with good escalation skills.

Responsibilities

• Review scheme accounting and generate MIS reports.
• Control scheme expenses and perform NAV reviews.
• Liaise with auditors to ensure timely audit completion.
• Support new initiatives and system developments.

Job description

Reports to (Position): VP - Investment Operations

Location: Mumbai Date: July 2024

Education Background Chartered Accountant (With minimum 1- or 4-years’ experience)

Principal Accountabilities:

Scheme accounting review and all MIS related to scheme.

Strong Trail balance control regular Trail balance review

Scheme financials -Half yearly, Annual and Abridged

Strong control over scheme expenses and various MIS pertaining to the same.

Schemes Distributable surplus - Analysis, review, regular change or highlighting to the management.

Review of NAV and scheme return.

Strong control over security valuation affecting the scheme.

Liaising with the Statutory Auditors, Internal Auditors and SEBI Auditors to ensure smooth and timely completion of audits for various departmental issues.

Implementation of new projects and changes brought because of regulatory or business requirement.

Support all new initiatives including system development.

Benchmarking similar industry practices and work towards implementation of best practise

Identifying risk and putting effective controls for various processes

Regular review and update of relevant process manuals and SLA’s

Having hold on existing SEBI mutual Funds regulations and vision on implementing the new regulation affecting fund accounting areas.

Knowledge, Experience

Knowledge of NAV Calculations, Fund Accounting and Fund Expense

Valuation of Securities

MS office with special expertise in Excel, Bloomberg, and other related software

Good communication skills, both verbal and written.

Excellent Time management and Planning skills

Preferred Industry Experience

Ideally the candidate should have experience in the mutual fund space though not a pre-condition.

If not from mutual fund space, the candidate could be drawn from the banks, non-banking finance companies.
