Job summary

Dalmia Bharat Limited is seeking a senior Fuel Procurement Head in Delhi to lead the company-wide fuel procurement strategy for cement operations. You will ensure reliable, cost-effective, quality-compliant fuel supply across plants and coordinate with Operations, Commercial and Logistics teams to optimize sourcing and risk management.

The role requires strategic leadership, deep market intelligence on coal and alternative fuels, and the ability to drive savings while ensuring uninterrupted

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the fuel procurement strategy aligned with plant production plans.
• Lead procurement of coal, petcoke, imported and domestic coal, and alternative fuels as applicable.
• Track commodity prices, FX, freight and supply-risk trends to identify sourcing opportunities and manage risks.
• Drive cost optimization and procurement savings through competitive sourcing, long-term contracts, and alternate sourcing.
• Ensure uninterrupted fuel availability across cement plants through demand planning and inventory management.
• Partner with Plant Operations, Commercial, Logistics, Finance, Quality and Sustainability teams for end-to-end fuel planning.
• Manage imported fuel procurement with ports, shipping/logistics, customs and stakeholders.
• Develop and monitor supplier performance through SLAs/KPIs.
• Lead contract management, supplier negotiations, claims/disputes and settlements.
• Identify opportunities for alternative/low carbon fuels and sustainable sourcing in line with sustainability objectives.
• Establish procurement dashboards covering volume, price, landed cost, savings and supplier performance.
• Lead, coach and develop the fuel procurement team.

The Fuel Procurement Head will be responsible to lead the organization wide fuel procurement strategy for cement operations, ensuring reliable, cost-effective and quality-compliant fuel supply across plant

Key Responsibilities :-

• Develop and execute the fuel procurement strategy aligned with cement plant production plans and fuel consumption requirements.
• Lead procurement of coal, petcoke, imported coal, domestic coal and alternative fuels as applicable.
• Track coal/petcoke commodity prices, international markets, FX, freight and supply-risk trends to identify sourcing opportunities and manage risks.
• Drive cost optimization and procurement savings through competitive sourcing, long-term contracts, spot purchases and alternate sourcing strategies.
• Ensure uninterrupted fuel availability across cement plants through effective demand planning, inventory management and supply-risk mitigation.
• Partner with Plant Operations, Commercial, Logistics, Finance, Quality and Sustainability teams for end-to-end fuel planning and procurement.
• Manage imported fuel procurement, including coordination with ports, shipping/logistics partners, customs and other stakeholders, where applicable.
• Develop and monitor supplier performance through appropriate SLAs/KPIs.
• Lead contract management, supplier negotiations, claims/disputes and commercial settlements.
• Identify opportunities for alternative/low carbon fuels and sustainable sourcing, in line with the company's sustainability objectives.
• Establish procurement dashboards covering volume, price, landed cost, savings, inventory, supplier performance and market movements.
